To do the flat you just need to follow the tutorial on the advanced feature. You can use a white paper or your phone or laptop screen. The Seestar will guide you j the process which is manually. I hope that helps you.

Support@Seestar Are the flats stored in NVRAM? So you don’t need to retake them each time you turn the S50 on? Also, does reformatting the internal memory card erase them?

V2.5 - Potential small UI bug.

When I perform Flats on my ASIAIRs, I make use of the Sky Atlas to GOTO Zenith. This is handy to ensure scope if pointing upwards to allows balancing light-panel on top.

So with the welcome reception of V2.5 for my S30, I instinctively did the same. The problem I've faced is that the APP thinks I'm 'observing' and that Flat would interrupt this process. Nothing I've tried alleviated this - including force restart of the Seestar App.

NOTE: I've have Seestar set to not start shooting after GOTO and the UI main page did not show the orange outline around the 'Stargazing' button - so to my mind, I wasn't observing.

So, I had to manually move scope using onscreen joystick on Flats Calibration page - which is of course, less convenient than GOTO Zenith :-)

Could you perhaps either

prevent Seestart from thinking its observing just because of the GOTO
allow Flats Calibration to cancel observation (with user confirmation YES/NO)
or even BETTER - add a GOTO Zenith button next to onscreen joystick on Flats Calibration page

Lastly, could the Flats Calibration helper video be disabled after first watch. Or cancelled/skipped? (or have I missed something here)

Thanks ... now just need clouds to move out of the way, as Adelaide had had 5 straight cloud-free nights just one day before V2.5 came along !!!!!!

talktogreg We have added a manual joystick control in the Flats Calibration page that allows you to point the telescope toward the zenith for flat frame shooting. You can complete the flat calibration before starting your imaging session.
I don’t quite understand what you’re trying to do. I understand that you’re saying the GOTO to Zenith function doesn’t work during Flats Calibration because the app mistakenly thinks it’s in “observation” situation and blocks the action.
However, I’m not sure why you need to perform a GOTO operation before doing the calibration?
I’ll forward your other suggestions to the team.

Yes I know how to use the manual joystick in Flats Calibration and to do before observing (as I had to work this out to get around my found issue)

Was just hoping that I could do with Seestar, what I do with ASIAIR - which is me being lazy and using GOTO Zenith in Sky Atlas to automatically point scope up instead of having to do it manually.

It's actually a very handy thing and ensures scope if facing upwards without having to fiddle around :-)

@"Jeff P"#p92448You don’t need to take flats every time. If you think the flat frames are not good, you can retake them to replace the old ones.

The flat data is preserved even after the device is powered off.

Flat files are stored in the system partition, not in the user storage space, so formatting the internal memory will not delete them.

There is a big bug
Current latitude in EQ mode function IS totally wrong.
I put 46° like the seestar ask, but when I do deviation check i am out of about 4°
Please fix this

A friend had a plan setup last night and prior to nightfall had done a Flat Shoot. During the night, one of the plan segments failed with a message of "Flat Failed". All other segments worked fine. What does the "Flat Failed" indicate?

After last update in my case it was necessary to do a new level sensor calibration on a flat surface.
I dont understand why but with new firmware the level sensor was completly wrong (4°)

Sur la version v2.5 la séance en mode plan avec des objets personnalisés (coordonnées Jnow de la cible) n'a pas fonctionnée. Sur 15 objets planifiés (10 minutes d'acquisition par cible et 10 min de pose entre chaque cible) 4 ont été imagés et les fits individuels et ont été placés dans des dossiers ne portant pas le nom de la cible . Ce plan est utilisé depuis 2 mois tous les 4 jours (suivi d'étoiles variables) et a toujours réussit avec la version 2.4 avec les fits dans des dossier portant le nom de la cible (le nom de l'objet personnalisé). Le Seestar est utilisé en EQ. Merci de tenir compte de ce bug.
