Hello, last night I had a lot of trouble trying to plan widefield imaging using a full frame DSLR as main camera and a 40mm lens. Only rarely the polar alignment could platesolve the images, I figured out that I better used the guide scope for PA. Still, I could not automate imaging, as verifying the positioning failed usually. There is a warning that the FOV was larger than the 33 degrees or so which seems to be the limit. I tested both normal and new (narrow band) plate solving algo. I did not use any filter and stars were in focus, a few thousand stars had been detected per image when trying plate solve. Are there any recommendations or ideas how to get things automated?
