Looks like development has stalled, and the TestFlight version of 2.3.3 expires soon.

@ZWO - please make 2.3.3 available as a proper update with no time limit - eg by releasing it properly as 2.4.9.

Otherwise ASIAir will be no more use than a paperweight in a few days time.

What do you mean expires soon??? Do these updates have a ticking clock and they become bookends? I just sold my ASIAIR Pro 256G and it was running 2.3.3. I need to let the buyer know.

The last “stable” version 2.3.3 was re-released in TestFlight and has a time limit which expires at the end of August.

After that… if the only option is the buggy 2.4.1 I’ll replace the ASIAir with a PC.

PMTeam@ZWO I also got an exposure failed on 2600MC air. Autorun using 300s exposures. It didnt even reatttempt to continue the autorun and just shut it down completely.

PMTeam@ZWO W jakim terminie zostanie wydana wersja bez błędów. Minęło już ponad miesiąc a nic w tym temacie się nie dzieje. Dotychczasowa poprawka fatanego błędu aplikacji została załatana tymczasowo. Błędy sie powtarzaja.

Also remember that, for iOS or iPadOS, to disable auto updates of the ASIAIR App, Apple only let's you disable auto update for all apps. Apple doesn't let you disable auto update for individual apps.

However, I think this is right, if you install the app from TestFlight then that App doesn't auto update (not sure if that's a setting you have to enable or something, though).

On Android:
you can install any version any time you like for however long you want (there's a thread here https://bbs.zwoastro.com/d/18885-how-to-downgraderollback-asiair-app-firmware-with-android).

You can also turn off auto update for just the ASIAIR App on Android.

PMTeam@ZWO i need the ability to manually rotate the CAA 90 degrees both directions from a home position. Currently it only goes 1 direction 180. NOT WHAT IS BEST TO AVOID CABLES TANGLING!

Manual control both sides of home is what is needed.

The way I use the CAA at the moment is top connect the USB and the handset, but in ASIAIR I leave it disabled, so ASIAir will not rotate it automatically.

Then manually rotate watching the back of the camera to judge the orientation. I also put a black index mark on the CAA, and I put a piece of BluTak on the camera body in line with it, so I know where the initial position was and can return to that. Visually I can guess the position within about 10 degrees.

I still find the CAA useful to find guide stars (I use the ASI2600 DUO camera) by manually rotating and watching for a guide star zipping across the field of the guide sensor.

Here is a work around I use to be able to get a 90 degree rotation to the left and to the right with the ZWO CAA. Drive the CAA all the way to the hardware zero, it will beep twice. Set the ASI AIR to 180 degrees for the CAA. Move the CAA to the 90 degree position using the ASI AIR. Using thin shims (0.3 and 0.5mm) between the EAF and the CAA to align your camera sensor at the desired 90 degree position, then use the manual CAA on the telescope to set the camera at 90 degrees with respect to the telescope. Once this is done you will have a -90 degree (hardware zero to the CAA) rotation to the right and a + 89.9 degrees (hardware 179.9 to the CAA) to the left. I still disable the CAA in the ASI AIR if the mount has to do a meridian flip because the CAA still randomly rotates 180 degrees with the meridian flip even though the ASI AIR says 180 degree limit. I have Falcon V2 rotators on two other rigs using NINA and the are so easy to use because you can set a software zero when you rotate to any position and the rotator has a yes/no setting to not rotate with a meridian flip. Hope this helps. I have also found that the ZWO CAA works very well using the ASCOM driver and does not rotate 180 degrees with a meridian flip, only using the ASI AIR does it still do that even with the latest software.

deans All I am asking for is a system that can get me a full night of images of an object of my choice for editing later. And lately there have been so many issues introduced that prevent me from doing this (meridian flip, plate solve, guiding).
