Suggestion: Restart Seestar option in App

Those of us using a Seestar remotely (mine is at Starfront in Texas) would really appreciate having a restart Seestar option in the app. Kind of difficult to restart the Seestar remotely, since pressing the power button after shutting it down is kind of difficult from 1000 miles away. Sometimes when the Seestar is misbehaving the only way to get it working again is to restart it. Please add a restart feature to a future version.

This suggestion has been declined. While the USB cable is connected, the user can choose to keep the Seestar powered on and disable the auto power-off option. Executing the homing function in this state will meet your requirement.

I'm not following you. How do I restart the Seestar remotely? What is this "homing" function that restarts the Seestar?

I think they mean 'Close the Arm'! Don't think it resets the Seestar though but puts it in the Home position.👐

I'm hoping ZWO understands what I am requesting and put a Restart Seestar NOW feature in the app in addition to the existing Shutdown Seestar NOW feature --- just like any PC or Mac can do :-) Just closing the Seestar arm and opening it does not restart the Seestar. This would be extremely helpful for those of us using our Seestars remotely (like mine is at Starfront).

Agree. Closing the arm will not restart the unit.
By restart the original poster means a reset of the machine akin to restarting a pc or mac.

Reason for this to be useful:
Remote observing
Inclement weather (very cold)
Seestar sited in a not easily accessible place (some people mount on roofs)

Currently some users employ a SwitchBot or similar(a mechanical physical switching mechanism controlled via Bluetooth) to allow remotely switching on and off - adding this functionality into the app would negate the need for this to be used.

Please can you revisit this with the dev team armed with the above information, it would be a useful and well received addition to the Seestar app functionality.

HeidsG Yes I hope ZWO implements this soon as the switchbot solution is not the greatest as it uses a little battery which will eventually die and same problem, I'm 1000 miles away and can't easily replace that battery in the switchbot.
