There are so many posts now, what are the exact circumstances where you experience failed flips?
As this does not seem a common problem among the wider user base, it may be a unique combination of things.
We had a couple of clear nights now and with at least 3 Asiairs and a ton of flips there was no single failure.
Meridian Flip issues often stem from wrong time/ location/ time zone data in the app/ mount or handset (that should never be used if possible).
True is ZWO is not following up all (or even most)? bug reports. Maybe there are far too many and they need to concentrate on bugs that are spiking in numbers.
With my Rainbow Astro mount for example I have to turn on the re-calibrate feature after meridian Flip (or similar, I don’t remember) to be able to resume guiding. Otherwise the guiding was just running away when doing a reverse meridian flip (from west to east, east to west works fine). The flip calibration feature did not help being off or on.
Only few people have such a mount and therefore my bug reports where not critical for ZWO. Obviously that is no good.
However it seems to be not easy to accommodate for each and every mounts specific behaviours, especially the more exotic ones.
While there was one really bad FW release, and some people are obviously still experiencing issues, cracking down on ZWO employees will not improve the situation. A more analytic approach might help identify underlying root causes. Even then, sometimes it might just be a good ol user error. Which happens to the best of us.
