ASI 533 MM/MC PRO, T2 Tilter and EFW 5x2

Hello everyone,

I’ve encountered an issue involving the following three components:
• ASI 533 MM PRO
• T2 Tilter (5 mm version)
• EFW 5x2 (not referring to the 36 mm or 1.25" versions)

Unfortunately, I’m not satisfied with the result, as the ASI 533 MM PRO does not appear to be properly centered when used with the T2 Tilter. This makes it nearly impossible to achieve perfect sensor alignment.
I’ve attached a photo to better illustrate the issue.

I mainly use the T2 Tilter to connect the EFW 5x2 via the four screws, which works mechanically without any problem.

However, the threading of the T2 Tilter does not allow for precise centering of the ASI 533 MM PRO sensor. Even after multiple attempts, the sensor remains slightly off-center, making fine adjustment very difficult.

I hope ZWO can offer a solution or technical advice to help resolve this issue.

Hello, please power on the device for testing first. After powering on, the EFW will automatically reset. Once powered on, observe whether the ASI 533 MM PRO sensor is centered.

The issue is not with the EFW 5x2, but with the T2 Tilter.
When I attach it to the ASI 533 camera, the sensor is not properly centered—it remains off-center despite several adjustment attempts.
I’m attaching an image below to better illustrate the situation.

Please remove the screw and rotate it to adjust the center position.

I saw the photo, but it might not clearly show the issue. I think my image didn’t come out well.

The ZWO T2 Tilter never allows perfect sensor alignment, which makes it nearly impossible to use the ASI 533 MM/MC Pro properly.

I’m not sure how to solve this, because the 533 can’t be directly connected to the EFW 5x2 in a way that ensures proper sensor centering.

The only option is to attach the T2 Tilter perfectly to the EFW 5x2, but even then, the sensor alignment isn’t accurate.

The connection between the T2 Tilter and the EFW 5x2 works mechanically without issues, but as you can see in the image, the camera sensor is not perfectly aligned. That’s the real problem.

You can measure whether the distance from the hole positions to the center of your T2Tilter is consistent or if there is any deviation. Salve a tutti,
dopo molti tentativi, sono finalmente riuscito a risolvere il problema di centratura del sensore. Non è stato facile, quindi voglio condividere la mia esperienza per aiutare chi ha lo stesso problema con la camera ASI 533 o simili.

Ho utilizzato i 4 anelli originali inclusi con la ASI 533 Pro, combinandone due per ottenere una centratura quasi perfetta del sensore rispetto all’EFW 5x2.

Vorrei aggiungere che il T2 Tilter, essendo singolo da 5 mm e non doppio, non consente un allineamento preciso se usato da solo con la 533.
Nel mio caso, l’utilizzo combinato degli anelli è stato fondamentale per correggere la posizione del sensore.
Ringrazio anche il supporto ZWO per l’aiuto fornito durante il processo.
