I’m seeing what looks like abnormal battery drain on my EAF Pro. The unit was fully charged to 100% before my imaging session last night. After running from 7 PM to 7 AM (12 hours), it dropped to 53%. During that session, my ASIAIR logs show 3 autofocus routines total. My autofocus settings are: before each target run, after meridian flip, and every 5 °C temperature change. Ambient temperature was around 70 °F, so it was close to room temperature. ZWO advertises the EAF Pro as having a “one-week endurance under standard conditions” — roughly 56 autofocus operations (2 per hour for 8 hours/night × 7 nights). Based on that, battery drain should be around 2 % per autofocus run, not 10-12 %. This pattern has been consistent since I bought the focuser a couple of months ago, even during summer nights around 75 °F. The focuser routinely drops to 50%-60% with only 3 to 4 runs per night. The EAF Pro otherwise works fine, but the battery life is nowhere near what’s advertised. Has anyone else experienced similar drain? Could this indicate a faulty battery or power-management board? I’m considering opening a support ticket, but I’d appreciate any input or confirmation first.
