External guidecam with 2600MC DUO Air??

Hi, I have the 2600 MC Duo Air and the new MM Duo Air. On some of my shorter Nikon lenses, I don't have an image circle wide enough to include the guiding sensor.
Though, I do have an external guiding camera (ASI 290 MM mini) which I was hoping to use in those cases.

But regardless of how I am connecting the 290MM mini to the 2600MC-Duo Air (USB-A or USB-C slot), it seems to not recognizing the guiding camera and doesn't allow me to choose any other guiding camera in the pull down menu where one can choose the guiding cam.

Am I doing something wrong, or is this simply not a possibility with the smart camera?

Thanks for any tips or clues of how to use an external guiding cam with my 2600MC Duo Air camera.

I'm hoping someone chimes in because I haven't tried yet but I also have a smaller scope with an image circle too small for the guidecam. Im running the 2600mc duo air also and love it on my 2 scopes that have FF image circles. Was planning on getting a 120mm and 30mm guidescope to do just what you are trying to do. Just figured it would work.
I'm assuming you did go in the 2600 asiair and turn off the guide cam, then clicked the pull down menu to look for your usb cam.
Now I guess I'll wait to see.

The one issue is they never answered the question of what happens if your external guide cam is also a ASI220MM since that is the same model of the one built in.

SOLUTION FOUND

Yes, after working with the fantastic ZWO service staff, I can now confirm, it does work indeed. One of my USB-A ports is defective, so after changing cables and USB-A ports the camera was detected as one would expect. Remark: the USB-C port does not work with an external guidning camera.
