Hey Guys, I’m new seestar & EQ mode but I need help
I went out to do my first test run with an EQ skywatcher mount with my seestar s50
I tried to capture the veil nebula and found that 40-50% of my subs were getting discarded, this was with 20s exposure
When I tried 10s exposure it was 30-40%
30s had 70-80% fail rate.
The thing with 20s (The sweet spot) was that it showed Alot of star trailing for the first 2 minutes and after that it stopped, still had a fail rate of 40-50% but it seems to have moved the frame, this was noticeable due to a piece of the veil nebula being out of view when i started it fully in view
I aligned multiple times, it was 0.1°, 0.1° so very good aligned to zenith
I later tried a comet which had 100% succes rate on 10s subs, and then again on 20s it had noticeable star trailing for a minute, then back to bad succes rates
I just wonder what I’m doing wrong because this is even worse than without an eq mount and to my understanding this was supposed to make frame discards super low
I’m new to astrophotography too since 2 weeks ago, any help is appreciated 🙂
