Due to security concerns, unless there is official notice of app update, that's not gonna happen here. You don't make changes without updating the version number.
The only thing that occurred was an unannounced firmware push to the device that occurred during the night, in the middle of a planned imaging session. That, in itself, is a poorly implemented action.
