ASIMount-ZWO I just upgraded from version 1.6.3 in the hope to solve PA drift peaks every 4-5 minutes, does it contain any fix to this known issue?

P.S. It is not a problem related to Autoguide because I use the mount also for solar imaging and it drift just after activating the Solar Tracking

Hi,

I upgrade AM5 firmwear to 1.8.6, I wish I didn't !!

I was guiding with PHD2 RMS 0.6-0.8 before that in all sessions.

Now the RMS 0.8-1.2 AND spikes are everywhere specially Dec. axis , See pictures

and that happened W or E at any place of the sky!

I double checked everything, cables snags, balance, recalibrate, using Heavy duty mode all of that not useful !

Anyone faced this issue?

I am thinking to Downgrade\ Rollback to the previous firmwear but afraid I will do something wrong with the software and maybe AM5 fail completely !!

Any hints please

I was wrong about FW 1.8.6 being suspected , Its not affected the guiding.
I test the mount again and guiding was good.
For unknown reason (s) it was giving spikes.. and I will revise logs file to investigate maybe I can catch something.
I will delete the previous post if I could.

Just upgraded to 1.8.6. I've updated the ASCOM Drivers as well. I'm not able to access my observatory at the moment but the indicators show that the mount is parking at north pointing at the horizon? Is this what you intended.

The traditional park position most people are familiar with is the Home position as this was/is the default with SkyWatcher and EQASCOM which is what a great number of people are replacing when they come to AM mounts.

The ability to define custom park positions is fundamental to anyone with an observatory or fixed pier with a hard cover as some scopes will hit the roof in the Home position. The old 'park pointing West' worked better (V1.7.7). I suggest you review some of the more developed third party mount drivers e.g. EQASCOM and GreenSwampServer to see what they provide in this area.

I look forward to the next version of the firmware and mount driver interface.

Never mind. I found the update in the AsiAir application and it worked.

I updated my AM3 to 1.8.6 firmware and it now thinks its an AM5N and doesn't respond to commands park, home slew etc. even from the handset.
I can connect to the mount via all methods including the management web page. There was no indication of a problem with the upgrade. All other drivers and software are the latest from the ZWO download page.

Where can I get the firmware as a file to manually re-install either 1.8.6 or the previous version?

PS and can your engineers sort out a definable park position. It's a very standard requirement and should not be difficult.

Also ASI Mount Controller software 1.18b 64bit doesn't have a Park/UnPark button!
