It is pretty simple, the difference between Parking a mount and setting it at the Home position is the Park position is usually at 90 degrees from Home. This simply means:
Home position: Normally positioned pointing roughly North , assuming you are in the N. Hemisphere and South if your are in the S. Hemisphere
Park Mode: 90 degrees from the Home position or horizontal to the ground.
The advantage of setting at Park position at the end of the session is the telescope is NOT pointing up which could result in gathering dust and dew on the objective lense. Therefore the telescope's lens is protected and kept cleaner and dryer.
A real world example...If I image until from lets say 11PM until 3AM and don't get outside to service the telescope until about 9AM the next morning then I want the telescope to go to the Park position which is horizontal to the ground at the end of my imaging session at 3AM. Meaning I can tell the ASIAIR system (or whatever guiding app you use) to reposition the telescope at the end of the imaging session so it's horizon to the ground. This means no dew or dust is settling on the telescope lens, therefore protecting it.
Hopefully this makes sense to you, if not please advise what doesn't make sense.
