ASIAIR v2.5 has been released!

We’re excited to announce that v2.5 is now officially available on the App Store and Google Play! Thanks to all users who helped in the beta period. Especially the Admins and Testers.

New Features

1、Enhanced Mount Control (ASIMount only)

Added mount parking feature
Autorun and Plan tasks now support setting "Park" as an end event for the mount

2、Support for Setting and Using Filter Offsets
After switching filters during Autorun or Plan mode, ASIAIR will auto-adjust the EAF focus position based on preset filter offsets

3、New One-Click Save Function in Capture Page - Quickly save the current capture target as a custom celestial object

4、Support temporarily skipping firmware upgrade

5、Create and Manage Frequently Used Equipment Positions from the Home Page

Supports including the camera angle in the FITS filename and header

This version distributed via Google Player only supports Android devices with ARM/ARM64 architecture and does not support x86/x86_64 devices. If your Android device uses an Intel or AMD processor—commonly found in certain tablets, 2-in-1s, or mini PCs—please download the compatible installer from the ZWO official website.

The PDF is great - except for one thing - people who are not members of this site cannot download it.
Could you please either

(1) Host it elsewhere, at a URL where everyone can download it,
(eg on https://www.zwoastro.com)

(2) give permission for it to be hosted elsewhere, eg CloudyNights;

and/or

(3) give permission for it to be appended to ASIAIr: The Missing Manual, which I am updating over the holiday season; as an author do I respect your copyright in this.

NB: The manual has had over a thousand downloads so far.

So- I set up an autorun tonight. All was going well- guiding, dithering, etc. However, I couldn't stop or pause the autorun. Any attempt to stop it brought up the end settings dialog. Went to the autorun settings, did a reset, the AIR said the reset was successful, but I could not uncheck the autorun or remove it. Even when I homed the mount, it kept capturing. I had to shut down the AIR. Anyone else? Help!!!

Bill H Hi, Bill. We received your log and have already replied to you through log platform. Please check the reply in the app. We haven't been able to reproduce the issue and need more information from you. Additionally, we suggest you try reset firmware and then updating to the latest firmware for a clean update to see if the problem persists. Thank you!

PMTeam@ZWO , thank you. I should have mentioned that I was able to pause and re-start the autorun once. All of my later attempts failed. You can see in the logs I loaded that guiding had failed for sometime, due to heavy clouds rolling in. After that was when I tried to stop the autorun, and failed.

I just downloaded v2.5 (actually on 24 Dec). android version from play store. I have not been able to try under the stars yet (clouds) but did notice that i did not see the option to turn off the camera light or set fan speed to 1/2. I am using an ASi2600MC Pro that i purchased in June of 2025. (I also note that way back pre v2.3.1 there was, briefly, the option to reduce fan speed and it worked great, and that was on my first ASI2600MC Pro that was purchased in early 2024!)
The VERY NICE .pdf explanation advised that i should be able to access the camera light and fan speed feature. (or maybe i misunderstood the explanation and what models are actually supported???)
Any comments?

retman Hello, if it's convenient for you, please connect the camera, go to the advanced settings page, and then submit a log to us. We will do our best to solve this problem for you.

Hello, after updating to the app version 2.5, updating the ASI Air firmware, and the mount firmware - I can no longer connect via Station Mode. When I connect directly to the ASIAir's wifi - I can see that the device has station mode enabled and is connected; but then on my iPad when I switch to my standard WiFi , open the app and scan it never finds the ASIAir. This worked fine on previous versions of the app. I have tried resetting my router resetting all of the devices, but still the scan returns nothing. Any ideas on how to get this working again? (note I am trying to connect via the Ethernet port)

SGano - For reference; I performed a factory reset; re-setup all my settings, and that seems to have cleared up the station mode networking issues. It was time consuming to do; but did work for me.

Hello, I’ve just submitted a bug report, but just to make sure, I would like to ask ZWO to fix EFW calibration issue. The calibration doesn’t work properly and its error message has also a bug.
I hope you could take care of it soon.

Ok, I now understand how to cause the issue where I can’t pause the autorun. I was running the app on two devices, an iPhone and an iPad. After starting an autorun, either device can pause and re-start it. However, after that restart, only the device that restarted it can pause it. The other device shows the capturing status, and updates as usual, but no pause symbol shows on the capture button. If the capture button is pressed, the menu to start the autorun pops up, not the pause menu. Killing and restarting the app on the device fixes it, and both devices can initiate a pause until the next time.

Well here’s a bug,.. launching ASIAir 2.5 for the first time it thinks its location is in Beijing, and there’s a string of Chinese text - looks like

1) user-specific details were not cleared from the image before it was uploaded to the App Store:

2) you haven’t localised the English version thoroughly (ie all strings must be localised to the appropriate language).

Please have a more experienced person do a quality check, next time.
