Once touptek releases their stellavita pro I think ZWO is done with the asiair empire. I bet they will just deprecate it and let it die. What kept stellavita from succeeding until know was the buggy Raspberrry PI platform and their horrible wifi. Now they are moving to Rockchip as ZWO did with the asiair mini and the last plus, so this is solved. Plus they will add more usbs and faster hardware with more memory. It will be a revolution and I foresee a flood of zwo boxes and hardware from people moving to the new better platform.
They have been keeping a policy of closing everything to their ecosystem to sell their overpriced cameras, mounts and harware, with movements such as not supporting new DSLR/mirrorless cameras, not supporting parking positions in 3rd party mounts (seriously? the ZWO AMX mounts are based on onstep, how come you cannot add a fixed AZ-ALT position to them as park position?), not supporting 3rd party hardware (which honestly, anyone with enough hacking skills can work around this, they are just putting doors in the field) ...
It may have made sense in the past all this bs, but I just don't understand this anymore ... and they are going to get the product killed following this mean approach. My bet? they won't release anything else with the asiair label, except maybe some cameras. But no separate device because it makes zero sense nowadays with stellavita and PINS.
