Has anyone had problems with automeridian flips with this update?

Is there a trello board or something where we can see a list of known issues?

Anyway to save the guiding as a log to correlate guiding with image quality?

Last weekend I had no issues with meridian flips - it all worked OK - several times over two nights.

How to extract and view the guider logs is detailed at section 25.4 of the Missing Manual.

Luxo Luxo...@Montaneer....Luxo...@Montaneer.... I get it this far. Maybe you didn't understand well, people want the AUTOMATIC movement and NOT MANUAL as you described. I repeat on Cloudy Nugyhts the manager of the ZWO technical area had said that they would provide it. For now they have done it for THEIR ZWO mounts (AM5/AM7) and not for other brands. Maybe THEY DON'T WANT TO DO IT because otherwise they don't sell their mounts! It's a shame because I consider ZWO a serious company and I have bought many things from them (like the Seestar S50). However, if they don't provide the Parking Position option in the next upgrade like for the AM5 mount, we will no longer buy their products. I'm good at doing it manually with the AZEQ6GT too!

I would like the feature for my (AZEQ6+other) mounts too.

IMO, ZWO is well aware that if they do not offer support for other mounts they will lose out on a huge share of the market. Using my AZEQ6 as an example, it was purchased back in 2014 and still runs perfectly with regular maintenance. I have no doubt it will keep working for some years to come, so telling me that I need to downgrade to an AM5 simply wouldn't work.
Businesses can only force people into a single brand ecosystem up to a point.

I see the Park Position problems for the current v2.5.2 software like this:

ZWO needs to fix mount control/connection issues for all the commonly used third party mounts first, such as the aforementioned issues with some IOptron mounts
ZWO needs the ASIAR to start/stop each target based on Alt/Az from the mount location, not RA/Dec.

The way I see it, any other solution is going to run into too many problems with third party mounts.

Well… ZWO have ignored almost all the feature requests, so I think you are out of luck.

To be honest I so not like their development approach. Whoever is making decisions is not an imager and does not use telescopes.

One thing about mature companies is that

they have a commitment to quality,
they remain agile and adapt to change, quickly;
they listen to users and try to address what users need.

ZWO is doing none of these things, which is the sign of an immature company that may not last long if they continue to ignore users - it’s clear there is an alternative emerging - Touptek - as well as PCs with NINA or EKOS and the rest. If ZWO don’t get their act together users will walk away - including me.

They make good hardware but their software is still quite poor.

I suggest you're being a bit disingenuous there - the ONLY mounts I'm aware of that have issues are iOptron ones, and that I suspect has more to do with iOptrons firmware - not ZWO - since ZWO's does work with every other brand of GOTO mount I know of.

No-one is forcing you to stop using your AZEQ6.

Not at all, Luxo. I never suggested there were problems with any mounts beyond the IOptron issues brought up earlier.
Perhaps I was being a little too subtle in my criticism of the suggestion that ZWO was conspiring to delay features to sell more mounts? If so, I guess that's on me for trying to be polite and have it translate reasonably well. (I'm almost certain the original post was in French).

Here's my Aus version:
It would be bonkers for ZWO to try and force people to buy only their mounts when they hardly produce any mounts themselves. It would also be bonkers because many mounts last a long time and people would simply go elsewhere for control options, thereby killing sales of the ASIAIR and the camera sales that go along with that.
In regards to the IOptron issue some people are having, I get that it's not really ZWO's direct fault. No doubt they'll be the ones chasing a solution though.

No-one is forcing you to stop using your AZEQ6. You could if you'd do a swap for that lovely CQ350.
Alas, that's never going to happen, so I'll have to continue saving for my next upgrade.

I have set my rig up for doing galaxy DSO. I am using my 715mc for the main camera and my 585mc (non-pro) for the guide camera. The session goes well. I shutdown using the shutdown slider. The next time I power on my rig and then use my iPAD to access the AIR, on the opening pages it flips the camera and it has the 585 as the main and the 715 as the guide. So i change them back but now my gain is different so I have to get the gain right. The other day though I used my old iPAD with 2.2.3 on it and when I logged in the cameras were not flipped. SO the 2.5.2 app is doing this all on its own. This is a bug.

I would report the bug using your ASIAIR. When the ASIAIR is on, in the top far right menu click "I" and then click "bug report" and that will gather your logs and provide you with a place to enter the bug you are experiencing. Reporting in a forum is okay, however if you want to get to the people that read bug reports, this is the quickest method. If ZWO gets back to you on this forum, chances are they are going to request your logs anyway.

PMTeam@ZWO I have both the 2600mc air and the 585mc air and both keep disconnecting with the guide scope and the mount (am5) since I updated them about a week ago.
The weather here has been awful (rain and clouds) until this week, four or five clear night one after the other.
I wanted to give my new scope a try out, but because of all the issues my zwo MC airs are giving me (constantly disconnecting guide camera and from the am5 mount) I've not actually managed to get any images at all.
I've reset both cameras. Reinstalled the latest firmware. Uninstalled the asi air app from my tablet and phone and reinstalled firmware.
Also tried the factory reset firmware but that didn't work as it wouldn't find the mount.
I'm at a loss with what to do. At the moment I can't do any astr imaging at all as both my cameras aren't working correctly.

There's another issue (defect) which as been there since 2.5.

When filtering objects by altitude/azimuth, the list of objects still shows all targets in all quadrants - ie the filter by azimuth is broken.

I'm getting objects filtered by azimuth when setting up a plan. The issue for me has been that the arrows all point North.

Agreed I think the filtering is borked. Another example showing they did not test this under the stars, with a real telescope and mount.

Nice idea ZWO, but please don’t release half-baked features until you have actually tested them ptoperly.

I’m experiencing the same disconnection issue with ASIAIR Plus when using an iPhone and a MacBook Pro.

In particular:

The Wi-Fi connection remains active and stable
However, the app suddenly loses connection to the device
The issue is intermittent and not easily predictable
In some cases:
the iPhone disconnects while the MacBook can still connect
or toggling Wi-Fi off/on on the iPhone restores the connection

Another important point:

even when the app disconnects, ongoing sequences continue to run normally

This suggests that:

it is likely not a Wi-Fi signal or connectivity issue
but rather a problem in the communication between the app and the ASIAIR (session handling / protocol / possible bug)

In practice, it looks like:
→ the device is still reachable on the network
→ but the app loses the session or the communication with the ASIAIR

For reference:

I am currently using version 2.5.2
I was experiencing the same behavior also with version 2.5.1
I cannot comment on earlier versions, as my previous ASIAIR had a different issue (it would freeze in cold conditions) and was replaced by the retailer

Has anyone else observed the same behavior with the latest versions?

Yes I have reported same. The app crashes and you have to reboot your phone/tablet.

After reconnecting AA is ok and the firmware still running.

It’s quite clearly a bug in the app.

Their implementation of TCP/IP comms is very poor, it was poor a year ago and still has not been fixed. A year ago I looked at their logs and started to reverse compile their code, but finally figured its their problem to fix this, not mine.

But yes it’s clear from the logs that whoever wrote the comms has no idea. Frankly after a year of this crap it’s time they were fired and find someone who does know.

It’s now a race between ZWO - who need to fix their bugs - and Touptek, who are advancing fast.

If Touptek get their act together I have no hesitation in switching.

Is this issue just with the ASIAIR (App) on Apple devices (iOS/iPadOS/MacOS) or does this impact Android as well?

Note: I'm still on 2.4.3 on a Galaxy S25 and haven't noticed it. Haven't noticed it with running the ASIAIR App (2.4.3) in BlueStacks 5 on Windows 11 either (which is also Android).

Second note: Apple has possibly made some protocol changes as well that @Tech@ZWO @PMTeam@ZWO need to update the ASIAIR App for Apple devices.

I also encounter these lost connections (mobile phone android) and it is not predictable, however I noted last time that (as I am in a garden of a friend when imaging), the connection of the asiair and my android got lost and instead my mobile phone had connection with another wifi network. When I changed the wifi network to the one of the asiair again I lost connection and again my mobile phone was connected with the other (same) network. I did this several times. Then I noted that my mobile phone was set to connect automatically to that network and when I deleted that wifi network of my mobile phone, I didn't get any lost connections again. So far that seems to work for me against network disconnections. Fortunately on every disconnection the asiair continued to work normally.
