To work via your iPad, the router should be set to Repeater or Range Extender mode, whichever it has. This extends the distance of the ASIAIR's normal Wi-Fi signal directly to your iPad. You don't need Station Mode. I use a TP-Link router in Range Extender mode and it works fine with my ASIAIR. The router has to be set up to access the ASIAIR's hotspot with its name and password. I don't know how yours works, so you would have to see the instructions.
