PMTeam@ZWO I would like to provide an update after testing the official ASIAIR 3.0 release.
Unfortunately, both issues are still present.
- Guide camera display contrast (ASI220MM Mini / ASI2600MC Air / ASI2600 Duo)
The guide screen contrast problem has not been fixed. The background is still either almost completely gray or completely black, regardless of the gain value, making it difficult to properly evaluate the guide image and the visibility of guide stars.
- Guiding with narrowband filters
The guiding issue when using narrowband filters is also still present.
I tested with an Altair 6 nm dual-band filter, which is much less restrictive than the Optolong L-Ultimate 3 nm. Even with the 6 nm filter, I still had to use Bin 2 and increase the guide camera gain to approximately 550 to obtain stable guiding. This was not necessary in the past with the same equipment.
This confirms that the problem is not limited to extremely narrow 3 nm filters.
