I couldn't reproduce it myself during the night, and the remote mode worked more or less fine 🙂 .

I saw one problem though. When I create a hotspot in android and let the asiair connect to it, the ip is in the range of 10.X.X.X (but not 10.0.0.X). Well, somehow the app could not connect to the asiair on that 10.X.X.X 'locally' (despite having typed the IP manually), but then through remote mode it was working ok.

Check out the suggestion I made on the re-centering feature. It is probably not a lot of coding to be implemented and it would be amazing to have it in the final 3.0 release. I usually have to crop quite a bit of the margins of my images because of these artifacts between filter changes and meridian flips. So it would be amazing to 'recenter' every time a filter is changed or meridian flip is done AFTER the guiding is calibrated.

I need to use ASAir connected directly via its WiFi, as I use sites that have no internet connection - "Telescope Network" is of no use to me.

With the phone connected to the ASIAir wifi, the app recognized the ASIAir Plus, but fails to connect.

NB a note for all…

Please bear in mind that using remote access uploads your image then downloads it back down at whatever your internet speeds are. This is inevitably going to incur a time delay compared to using the local wifi connection directly.

Hence it may well be well into the next exposure by the time you see a sub at your end.

It also means polar alignment and manual focusing could be very laggy if attempted over a remote connection.

Maybe fine in China with gigabit Ethernet everywhere but I can think of many places where upload speeds are quite a lot slower than WiFi.

R0k9pZfT Could you tell me your Bug log number and the exact time the countdown went missing?
We’re aware of this random glitch that only happens to some users. Past reports lacked precise timestamps, making it hard for our team to dig deeper.
If you can recreate the countdown disappearing issue and upload another Bug log, please send over the new BT ID and exact occurrence time, so we can analyze it thoroughly.

Done. I've made a video and shared a link to that, plus other details.
A portscan shows ASIAir is at 10.0.0.1 and has ports 22 (SSH), 139 (netbios) and 445 open.

Back to version 2.5.2 and firmware 13.41.

@ZWO - I was using the ASIAir Wifi hotspot.

Observations:

1) The iPhone knows this connection SID and the password, it will connect automatically to the ASIAir WiFi.

2) The ASIAir 3.0.0 app automatically tried to connect to the first device ("NIXCQ350" is the SID of my ASIAir). It does not wait for it to be manually selected.

3) It does not ask for the 6-digit PIN code. Does your code by any chance automatically assume it is the default "000000" ? - mine is not the default.

How does it actually work on the iPhone?
I’m curious and interested in testing the beta.
If I download the beta, will I have both the beta and the regular version on my iPhone? If that weren't the case, I’d be hesitant to test the beta, because I wouldn't have the regular version to fall back on if something went wrong.

Dennis Siebert you need to install "testflight" and then download the Beta, it overwrites any existing
version but you can always "revert" to a release should you encounter bugs...

I'd like to make a couple of feature requests:

1) I would like to be able to specify an "absolute" start time for a plan vs an initial delay...

2) it would be great if it were possible to author a plsn "offline" (not connected to an ASIAir instance)

3) "plans" should be able to be exported/imported from the ASIAir to/from a connected device

PS since this does not ask for the PIN, it implies one person with ASIair 3.0.0 can overwrite the firmware of any (every) ASIair at a star party that it can connect to.

This is poor security and I suggest some people might be quite upset by that.

OK next attempt:

Using version 2.5.2, I reset the firmware back to 9.41 and restarted ASIAir.
Using TestFlight reloaded version 3.0.0(7).
Reconnected the iPhone to the ASIAir wifi (the same SID and password).
ASIAir 3.0.0 does not recognize the ASIAir at all, even when given the IP address.

Back to 2.5.2 again. Looks like a clear night tomorrow (Sunday).
