1st night of possibly worthwhile 3.0 imaging done! It's hard to say if there were more little bugs biting my legs, or the ASIAIR app. 😉
For the most part things went OK last night with 3.0. It was mainly just issues with a glitchy app interface that would freeze up unexpectedly.
Guiding on the Duo still seems off. That's without factoring in that we need the ability to adjust gain settings for different targets and filters in a plan.

In regards to the CAA, I tried something a little different last night before starting my plan run. A gentle little nudge on the filter wheel before firing up the ASIAIR. The kind of thing that's very easy to do with a filter wheel fitted.
Doing so resulted in absolute chaos as soon as I started a plan run. Meaning any minor cable wrap/snag, or bump, could result in more snags and cable wraps. Guiding just wandered off into the ether after calibration.
The rotation limits are now in a totally different position after resetting everything with a proper plate solve and mount sync.
I didn't notice any new feature that would make me feel at all comfortable using a CAA remotely.

I did the update on my Android smartphone but I am having issues with my tablet. The downloaded file is XAPK. I am assuming this is a compressed file. My tablet doesn't recognize the file and extractors cost money. Or am I missing something?

EDIT - All the extraction free apps want a credit card and have popups redirection you to other stuff. Someone needs to extract these apps for easy install.

Yeah, your right. @PMTeam@ZWO need to get their act together and offer a downgrade option on the official ZWO website. At least until the latest release is stable.

The recent stable "releases" are 2.3.3 and 2.5.2.
I also have a beta 2.6 in TestFlight (iOS) - its OK but only has a few days to left.
My preference would be to see 2.6 released as 3.1.

If you do not want to upgrade to version 3.0 then you MUST do the following on your device since it is your device that controls whether or not apps auto update:

Go the Play Store App. Search for ASIAIR. Tap on the ASIAIR App from the Search results to bring up the App product page. In the top right corner tap on the vertical triple dots. Untick "Enable auto-update".

This should stop the ASIAIR App auto updating on your device.

Downgrading
If you have already updated and want to rollback to 2.5.2 you can. Read the ASIAIR Manual v1.9 by @Luxo (specifically pages 62-63) on how to do it. I've made the 2.5.2 APK file available here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1NZ3oXVTh7oqt4g5iFbOUT0DuJ0rHXyAP/view?usp=sharing

FERNANDEZ oui. Normal. Effectivement c'est prévu pour être automatisé en plan ou autorun. Je me suis aussi fait avoir pour ma première sortie en asiair il y a un an, avec la 2.3.3. ce n'est pas un bug, juste un fonctionnement voulu.
Le mode preview ne semble pas fait pour durer dans la soirée. Tout juste a faire ses petits réglages.

After all the problems encountered here, some good news. Finally after 2 months we had a couple of good nights. I was using Asiair Rigs. One with 1600mm FL and one with 200mm FL. Both setups with all accessiries. 3 nights run straight without a problem.

Guiding with the 1600mm FL scope was consistently around 0.5“ total RMS with the AM7.

Only the dark guiding screen issue keeps popping up for me. It seems difficult to fix. But it does not seem to affect guiding quality, so I stop worrying about this.

So version 3.0 works very well for me.

The new start-up screen doesn't really work properly when running multiple devices on the same network.

After several attempts on multiple nights, the new "switch device" tab is useless if an Android device has already chosen an alternate Asiair.
The only way to swap devices is to hit disconnect and start from scratch. YMMV.

I've carried out a full night of imaging using v3.0 and didn't experience any problems at all. I'm not using a CAA or a filter wheel, so can't comment on that functionality, but I didn't have any issues taking my flats using Autorun or the overall imaging process using Plan. Guiding didn't seem to work any differently compared to v2.5.2, and I didn't experience any problems with the connection to my Losmandy Gemini v1 or the automated meridian flip. I do usually experience multiple WiFi dropouts over the course of a 4 hour imaging session, because of the distance between my laptop and the ASIAir Plus (I use it's built-in WiFi to connect). I only had one drop-out which is better than normal, but most likely coincidental and I wouldn't draw any conclusions from that. All in all everything worked well.
