Luxo they won't do that.
I would be happy if they opened the code for development, bugfixing, adding new hardware (it feels stupid they have no native way to control flat panels, most of us have that in our rigs) and adding new features. For example, a custom plugin module (I could imagine doing photometry with the AA directly on the device, or triggering transfers to my google drive of the images, or sending myself a message/email/telegram with statuses). Also the limitations (for example, the custom park positions) are absurd in 2026 and will do you more harm than anything @PMTeam@ZWO. Now you don't have only stellavita which does not impose those silly limits, you have Synlink, you have PINS, etc etc. Even kstars/ekos is getting a more mobile-friendly interface with this merge request: https://invent.kde.org/education/kstars/-/merge_requests/1701 . Open it @PMTeam@ZWO ! .
The Asiair seriously need a watchdog to look for issues and some ways to self recover itself. For example, a cable doing some fluke, sometimes you have to even reboot the asiair and manually intervene to resume the current plan. This feels silly, there should be a way to automatize this to not need to put an alarm every hour to check.
I asked @PMTeam@ZWO in another message (which never got published apparently) to provide audio feedback on their apps, for example if the guide star is lost, if some hardware fails, or gives an error, or gets disconnected, etc. I think I can hack it around and just spy on the logs and implement a telegram or push client, but come on @PMTeam@ZWO , I think it would be easier and more elegant if you do it.
Also we miss an alpaca bridge, more control on the cameras (offset?, gain modes/switches like in touptek?), more advance sequencer/Planning modes (e.g. being able to repeat a sequence N times with constraints based on twilight/sun position, and then jump to sequence blocks that need to happen during twilight (e.g. sky flats)!.
I got plenty of ideas, but @PMTeam@ZWO we need your help here, or at least that you allow us to help 🙂 .
