RPI3 ASI224 only connecting as root

This is good news then, so it means I am doing something wrong.

Please confirm I understand correctly:

1. Using the Ubuntu-mate image

2. copy the /lib/udev/rules.d/99-asi.rules and 99-efw.rules to the /etc/udev/rules.d directory

3. reboot

4. Start up indi via user.

I will test this now.

Results connecting to RPI3 (rpi-update was done as well), with everything running as user, and the 99-asi.rules and 99-efw.rules in the /etc/udev/rules.d folder:

- ASI1600mm-c connects

- ASIefw - connects

- ASI224mc-c - FAILS: 2017-05-18T11: Error connecting to the CCD (5)

This is using:

- indiweb server

- latest KStars/Ekos/INDI

- Ubuntu-mate image posted below

Is there a firmware check or such to do on the ASI224? Since it all works for you, there is something wrong with what I have here.

In the rules the line works for ASI224MC-C is:

ATTR{product}=="ASI224MC-Cool" ATTR{idVendor}=="03c3" ATTR{idProduct}=="224b" GROUP="users", MODE="0666"

use command 'lsusb' you can comfirm the PID of the camera.

Yes, this was already done and confirmed that the 224b is being identified correctly.

Please tell me what image/OS you are using on RPI3 where everything connects okay.

I can the replicate this and then hopefully figure out why the three ASI devices are not playing nice without being root.

- Previous attempts by only attaching the ASI224 suggest it is the problem.
