PHD2 Settings for ASI120 Mini

Hi - I am using PHD2 (tried both version 2.6.5 and the latest dev release) with a ASI120 Mini and an Orion 60mm guidescope. The camera works fine with Sharpcap, but when I connect it to PHD2 (using either the ASCOM ASI or ZWO ASI drivers), I get a picture that's all noise.

I've played with every gain setting that I can to no avail. Is anyone using this camera successfully and if so, with what settings. Thanks!

Hi there

I think you need to use Sharpcap to focus, adjust gain, until you see the stars.

Then use PHD2 with nearly same gain settings.

Is ZWO going to make the ASI120 more functional with PHD2, so that this extra step of using SharpCap is not necessary? I have the same problem. Thanks.

JMIKEG It works well on PHD2 all the time, the recommendation of adjust in sharpcap first is because it may be easier to check the settings to get focus and good exp and gain setting. it is not a necessary step.

I disagree. I get good images every time in the SharpCap software, but only a white screen in PHD2.

JMIKEG what are your camera settings in PHD2? Can you post a screenshot of the Camera tab in PHD2 Advance Settings? Also can you post a PHD2 frame capture representative of what you’re seeing? That would help.

Have you created and enabled a Dark library in PHD2 for the camera?
