ursamajor Hi, ursamajor! Thank you so much for your suggestion. These suggestions are very important for us. We will make these improvements in future.
ASIStudio v1.3.2 released
Gmessyhome Hi, Gmessyhome! We are sorry for the inconvenience. A server failure may cause the download to fail. You can download the software from this page:
https://astronomy-imaging-camera.com/software-drivers
Thanks a lot!
Fearless8328 Hi, Fearless8328! Please confirm whether there is a problem with the USB cable, whether the connection is loose and whether a broken USB Hub is used. Thanks a lot!
haloterry1 Hi, haloterry1! Please be considerate of our work, we will put a lot of effort into adapting to 10.10. We advise you to upgrade your Mac version to 10.12 and later. Thanks a lot!
giancarlo Hi, giancarlo!
① In ASIStudio, "Low" gain equals to "highest dynamic range" gain in ASCOM, "Middle" equals to "unity gain", and "High" equals to "lowest read noise". If the "highest dynamic range" is equal to the "unity gain", there is no "Unity Gain" in ASCOM, so there is no "Middle" in ASIStudio.
② Please confirm that the star is big, distinct enough and the quantity is enough. You can adjust the Exp, Gain, focusing to try the live stacking function. If the problem still exists, you can save several fits images and
send them to us. Our email: support@zwoptical.com
Thanks a lot.
haloterry1 Hi, haloterry1! The manual is coming soon. Thank you so much.
qutub Hi, qutub! We are sorry for the inconvenience. You can try another pdf reader software or open the help document in the path where ASIStudio was installed directly.
I assume you useless fucks aren't going to try to fix your own shit!
giancarlo
In ASILive it is possible to calibrate each frame but there is NO TOOL to create Master Bias, Master Dark or Master Flat!
Could you implement such a tool!?
Thanks
@asistudio@zwo#43577
Thanks a lot for your replay and I confirm that focusing is very important an using ASI178 is better to set Gain to High and Exp to 10 sec. . I had also an ASI224mc and I can say that it looked better in ASILive...we'll see!
I have another question: In ASILive it is possible to calibrate each frame but there is NO TOOL to create Master Bias, Master Dark or Master Flat!
Could you implement such a tool!?
Thanks
I've spent a lot of time using ASILive (since its first release) with an ASI290MM mini, and it seems (subjectively) that in the last few versions of ASILive, the livestacking algorithm is having more problems than when the software first came out, particularly in "star rich" fields. (This is almost the opposite of the problem that people have when there are too few stars in the field for live stacking to work.)
I'm going to continue testing vs SharpCap, but it seems that with the 290MM the stacking algorithm can get "overwhelmed" when there are too many stars in the field, particularly with longer sub-exposures, a wider field of view and/or high gain. I'm finding that I get the "Can't find matched triangles" error when live stacking, which I think is the opposite of the "Not enough stars" error. Curiously, with shorter subs and/or a smaller field of view, or with a H-alpha filter (which all tend to reduce the number of stars in the frame), live stacking seems to work much better.
I'm curious if anyone else has noticed this comparing the current version of ASILive with the early versions like 1.0. My wild guess is that ZWO has optimized the stacking for colour cameras which are less sensitive than mono cameras. In the absence of any user parameters for live stacking (which SharpCap has), perhaps it is not surprising that ASILive seems to be less robust in live stacking.
The funny thing is that the first few versions of ASILive seemed to have very robust live stacking with my 290MM camera. I will have to do more investigating, but I am curious if anyone else with a mono ASI camera and ASILive has had a similar experience.
giancarlo Hi, giancarlo! You can change the stack type option, then begin stacking and save the stacked image like stacking Light.
GanymedeOrbiter Hi, GanymedeOrbiter! Thank you for your feedback! We will optimize it carefully, but we are urgent to your specimen images to analyze.
Our e-mail: support@zwoptical.com
I will send you a couple of lived stacked images (I did not save individual subs) where many of the subs were skipped because of the "Can't find matched triangles" errors.
GanymedeOrbiter Indeed, I encountered that error also myself.
I confirm your opinion and I attach my ss of M52 just yesterday evening...no stacking at all !!?
Can someone tell me how to increase the font size for asistudio. it is beyond tiny. thanks
The new release is buggy. My 6200MC Pro always locks up when I try to use ASILIVE. I have to revert back to ASIStudio version1.2.1.
Also, how about allowing users of your equipment, who spent thousands of dollars in some cases, the ability to fully use RGB24 in ASILive.
cosmosteve Do you know if there is a link that I can download version 1.2.1 from?
Just a follow-up - I sent the support team a set of seven subs (in fits format) which I took a couple of nights ago. The second sub stacked with the base first sub, but the next five all produced the infamous "Cannot find matched triangle" error, and all subs had tight stars. The response I got from support was they could not reproduce the problem, and they suggested I try another computer.
If they can't recognize this problem, I'll revert back to vsn 1.1 which I believe had robust livestacking, or stick to SharpCap which has no problems of this sort. A bit of a disappointment to be honest.
