Thought I'd post my results, as I had some headaches, so maybe this will help.
First, thanks Mike1485, your post gave the 90% solution!
This seems to work with my EQM-35 Pro, which I couldn't confirm through search. Yes, it's a bit of an underspec'd mount for AS, which I suspect is why it isn't mentioned anywhere that I could find. Anyway, there you go.
Note that I haven't had a chance to use it on a clear night to confirm all functionality, but from what I can test indoors, it is working properly, and connects through the USB B port on the mount controller (no need for hand controller / I haven't tested it through the HC because now I don't need it!).
Downloading, unzipping and burning the OS were also an issue on my MAC:
I'm running Mac OS 11.5.2 (Big Sur) on a mid-2013 MacBook Pro (15");
First problem was downloading the ASIAIR OS from the linked Google Drive. Safari won't work. Worked fine using Chrome (Version 92.0.4515.159 (Official Build) (x86_64));
Next, unzipped using "The Unarchiver," (Version 4.3.3) downloaded free through App Store was the solution;
Then burned to a 64GB card, using ApplePiBaker (v2.3.3).
Once the card is burn and inserted. Boot ASIAIR Pro, connect to its onboard wifi network, launch ASIAIR app on your phone. It'll ask to update the firmware, I wasn't sure about this, but I did the update, and it's fine, go for it.
