charles18 how many files is on the root of the SD card you just finished?

I just did restore again on 2 different SD card and they both show 60 + files on the root of both cards.

I used win10 and W32 disc imager.

I have the EQ6-R mount with the new USB port on the mount head, but as of Sept 2021 I was able to use the USB port on the mount itself bypassing the hand controller at baud 115200 serial WITHOUT the patch file. I use airPro 1.6.2 and it works fine as is. I should mention that I use the EQmod Mount.

maudette unfortunately Celestron CGEM don’t have USB on the mount you must use the HC, until ZWO include the driver in the next regular update or beta I am stuck. Unless some how I fix the SD card problem which at the moment I have no idea how.

maudette So the driver issue for EQ6-r is fixed?!
I had the problem on Sept. 12 and since then there was no software update!

johnnyderskeptiker don’t expect any update until after 10/8. China still on their week long vacation plus the rolling black out they have, I’ll be very surprised if they had an update by end of next week.

Just started my ASIAIR and ... ups it updates! EQ6-R works fine with EQMOD and USB cable😃

Hello,

i have the same problem, a lot of people seems to have. I use 2 Asiair 1. Now I have bought a Skywatcher EQ6-R Pro. To now, I have used a Celestron CGEMII and a Celestron AVX. Both have USB on the hand controller and with both I can use my asiair via USB directly (out of the box).

Now with the EQ6 nothing happens, no USB Device could be connected, when I try to connect the mount. I have read the chats here, but im not so good in computer stuff and I don't understand everything. Someone wrote, that the ASIAIR 1 can not connect with the USB from the new EQ6.

Is this correct? Is there no chance to use the USB port of the mount or of the HC?

I have made a software-update of the app yesterday, but the problem is still there.

Pascal: I do the connection directly from the AIR to the EQ6-R USB-Port and use no hand controller. Important to set the speed to 115000! But I have the PRO. But with the 1 should also be possible!

I have the celestron AVX mount . With the suggestion for a change of operating system, I followed the instructions, I installed the new operating system on a 64GB card and my connection problem with the ASIAIR PRO was solved immediately. Thank you very much. Another problem is polar alignment. I try to do the procedure at her house and I fail. I should probably follow the procedures suggested by the ASIAIR PRO.

corfu What software do you use to burn the image? I have tried both Mac and PC with 32 and 64GB tf card, the end result still the same all 60 files are visible on the root of the SD card and the card is not bootable.

I have a new EQ6-R Pro with the USB port. I downloaded the OS image from the link pinned to the top of the page and flashed it to a 64GB SanDisk card with ApplePi-Baker. Installed the card in the ASIAIR Pro, switched it on - no beep, no WiFi from the unit. I assume it could not boot up correctly. Any ideas anyone?

GoldTop57 I think you are in the same boat as me, check your SD card how many files do you see on the root of the SD card? You should see only 4 files (3 folders and 1 file), if you see 60 files then it did not burn correctly and it will not boot. Mount the ISO image file you will see 60 files there, if the SD card looks like that then it won't boot. I've been having the same problem for weeks now trying to flash the OS and so far has ended in failure.

Thank you SSkylab1 - yes like you I see 60 files. I'm not going to waste any more time on this and will purchase an EQMOD cable.

I am not a programming guy, so this process is pretty frustrating. I've downloaded the file ZWO emailed me. i opened the file and it show up as a BOOT file on my desktop. Im using a MAC running High Sierra 10.13.6. I have a 64GB SanDisk. When i open Apple-Pi Baker and select the BOOT drive i have an option to "Backup Disk to File". Is this the correct option? If so it shows it will backup as a .ZIP file. Is that correct? Finally, when i open the BOOT file it shows 60 items, so it appears I would have the same issues as GoldTop57 andSkyLab1 encountered? Any thoughts?

tatonkadriver Your need to choose restore file to disk option, when is finish open the SD card if you see 60 files on the SD card then it didn't work, if you see only 4 files/folder then consider yourself lucky.

ZWO need to fix it problem ASAP, I also tried Raspberry Pie Imager same result 60 files, my mount is half working because of this. Somebody out there must know why this is happening and how to fix it, why the image works for some people and not others?

The restore option is not accessible. I assume its because of read only protection. I slid the unlock slider on the sd card and it shows as "custom" when i look at the card. I can't figure out out to get write protection off the card.

tatonkadriver do you have a small slot that will take the TF card without using the adapter? Or tried a different adapter.

I got a new EQ6 R with the USB port.

I had first light yesterday with it. Spent around 3 hours trying to resolve the issue (given some here saying the issues is resolved I thought I had some other issue). This is what I did:-

Updated the mount firmware to the latest version on SW website.

Followed the ZWO instructions at the top of this post. I used Win32 and the original SD card that came with my AAP. I just selected the AAP BOOT drive to install the new image and it overwrote the current OS.

Inserted back into the AAP. Reauthenticated online (I was concerned about this step but it was easy).

When I turned on the AAP and connected my tablet it updated to the most recent firmware. I was worried this would undo the new image, but it seemed to work. Obviously this version has some additional drivers that remain even with firmware updates.

Mount connected via USB under EQmod with 115000 baud.

Moodtastic Its there anyway you can backup your updated OS and upload to a cloud drive so I can download?

I have tried 4 different software on both PC and Mac trying to restore the img so far has ended in failure, the restore SD card shows 60 files and it will not boot. I have no mount control until I can install the new image to a SD card.
