Import plan from Telescopius

wvreeven, Thanks for your response. First, I have Telescopius installed on my Windows 10 computer. I am able to set up my 4 pane mosaic and create the appropriate RA and Dec information for each pane. However when I try to Copy that information using the CSV button, I get a message that says: "cannot copy to the clip board" . So I first need to find out why that is the case.
My second question, assuming I can get the CSV button to Copy my mosaic information, exactly how do get that information transferred from my clip board to my ASIAIR Pro so that when I hit the small box with the downward arrow, it loads and can be transferred to the PLAN? How are the two connected? Is it by means of the computer, and ASIAIR WiFi ?
If it is then I assume that if I can resolve the CSV Copy issue perhaps when I hit that small download box it then via WiFi transfers the Mosaic info on to the AISAIR Plan? Thanks for any help.

Byrdsfan1948 I wasn't aware that Telescopius can be installed. I always use the web version.
Your other questions require me to connect to my ASIAir which I will do when I arrive home tomorrow.

wvreeven HAHA OK, perhaps "installed" was the wrong word?? While we are at it, let me be sure I correctly understand what you mean by "web version".
By "installed", I meant that I have the Telescopius link saved to my AOL favorites sites. Yes, sadly I am one of the few out there still using AOL. To open Telescopius I go to my saved AOL favorite sites and open it from there. I assume what I am really doing is the same as you do, in that I have NOT actually downloaded, (installed on my computer ) Telescopius itself, but merely saved the link which is then the same web version you use?? Sorry for the confusion.

wvreeven OK Cool!! And since it was me who created the initial confusion thank you as well for clearing it up :-)) Anyway...... Some progress. It appears that the Copy to clipboard problem is some issue with my Windows 10 computer. There I get the message "cannot copy to clipboard". I am then instructed to enter the info manually.
I have a second computer an Apple Desktop in my music studio that I use exclusively for my music studio recordings. I try very hard to never use it for anything else. So I have only a few programs there besides the Pro Tools software for my recordings. I opened Telescopius there and after setting up the 2x2 mosaic I was able to paste that data to the clipboard....... So problem one seems to be on my side with my Windows computer. HOWEVER when I tried to import that now copied Mosiac plan from my Apple computer into the Plan session on my ASIAIR Pro I get the message "Incorrect format, check and input again". on the small Import Plan screen that is used to actually import that plan. Is there some setting in Telescopius that I need to adjust? The info that I get for each of the 4 mosiac pane is in proper RA and Dec format. The small Import Plan screen says to Paste the Plan text (Coord. in J2000 here. I also know that both my ASIAIR and computer are connected to my wifi .......... There always seems to be some small obscure detail that gets over looked to make this stuff work as it should. Thanks for any advice.

Here some screenshots to help you:

In telescopius create your mosaic and click the Copy CSV button:

You'll get a confirmation that the contents have been copied.

Next go to the Plan mode of ASIAir and click Add.

In the next screen click the Import button.

In the popup paste the contents of the clipboard.

In my case, where I am using an iPad, I need to tap the edit region twice so the Paste button pops up.

Then simply paste and click done.

wvreeven WOW THANKS for your effort here!! Unfortunately after following your instructions here I still get the same message when I try to import my plan data. That it is in "incorrect format". I do get that green confirmation message you show that my text has been copied to clipboard. I hit "add" then "import" as you show. I then get the Import Plan box exactly as you show. However I do NOT get that Paste button you show no matter what I do..... My current suspicions are that even though I am getting that green copied to clipboad message the information is NOT being copied. I'll get back to this a bit latter. Making some progress but obvious more is still needed........ Thanks again for all your help. It's greatly appreciated. Al

wvreeven GOOD NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I figured out the problem !!!!! First, your screen shots did provide some good guidance in that at least they showed me I was taking the right steps. But you actually provided me the answer without probably realizing it. Nor did I at first. The answer????? It came from your comment about tapping the edit region twice on your iPad!!! DUH!!!!! after walking away from this for a couple of hours your comment got me thinking!!! As well as our earlier discussion regarding "installing" Telescopius onto my computer!! So bottom line the solution was this: I use a Samsung tablet like you do your iPad to connect with my ASIAIR. Obviously NOT, a computer. So I searched for Telescopius from my tablet, found it, and was able to open it on my tablet. I then created the Mosaic plan as I had before on my computers....... I copied that to the tablet's clip board no problem at all....... Then opened the ASIAIR on my tablet. I then was able to import it into the Plan page as your screen shots here show and set up the imaging information!!!!!!!
All that is now left is to wait for a clear night to try it out!!!!!!!!! Thank you so much for all your help!!!! It's much appreciated !!! BTW what do you use after you shoot your Mosiacs to stitch them results together?

wvreeven Thanks, but you deserve the credit. If you had not made the comment the other day questioning installing Telesopius on my computer, I would not have connected any dots when you casually mentioned your iPad in one of those screen shots you sent. But as I gave this problem some thought it finally dawned on me that the clipboard that the ASIAIR would have to look for to load the Mosiac information would have to be on the tablet or your iPad where we have the ASIAIR App installed on !!!
Once gave that some thought I then also realized that also solved my question wondering about how my computer and ASIAIR would have to be connected to transfer what the computer had copied to it's clipboard!! Essentially a meaningless question since the computer should never have been part of this from the start!!
The rest is as they say history :-))
Thanks for all your help and info about APP I currently use DSS and Gimp but think I need something better or at least esier to use than Gimp for my processing. I have been considering AAP. Your help here has convinced me to go that way !!! I'll get that tomorrow and I suspect as a result you get many more questions from me there at that forum............ wvreeven Wouter, You were so helpful in helping me resolve the problem I was having in this matter that when I learned you were a member of the APP support team I purchased a lifetime license then and there. Unfortunately so far my experience with DSS and Gimp have been far better than APP. Of course the problem is not with APP, but my lack of understanding. I'm just a Mechanical Engineer, not a programmer, or even someone with basic knowledge in imaging, and even Photoshop processing etc. I'm not stupid, but lack the basic education in this subject area. As you are aware like so many other things in this very complex hobby the lack of operational documentation with APP makes learning how to properly use it a challenge for inexperienced people like myself. Sadly what videos I watched even at the APP site for one reason or another are less helpful than those I watched regarding DSS and Gimp. My opinion is that APP simply is not nearly as intuitively obvious to use. Of course this ( ZWO forum ) is not the place for me to ask you questions. Also I don't want to bother you and waste a lot of your time helping me if you are aware of a video or specific area I might be able to go to to get my answers. Therefor I was wondering if you don't mind if I provided you with my e-mail address if I could simply e-mail you my questions and you simply provide me a place to find my answers? Right now I can get my images to stack and integrate but have been unable to save that result to either post process in Gimp or APP. My E-mail is tetonman50@aol.com Of course I fully understand if you would prefer I try to find my answers by searching through the various APP forum sites or You Tube etc.

I don't even try to use the import from Telescopius. The reason is because Telescopius is in J2000, and ASIAir Pro uses JNow. This throws off where the telescope is pointing, which can mess up the mosaic. So I take the Telescopius coordinates and then use http://www.robertmartinayers.org/tools/coordinates.html to convert from J2000 to J2020 (close to JNow). Anyone have an easier way to get JNow coordinates into ASIAir Pro from the coordinates given in Telescopius?

ckoos I have found the solution for the coordinate issue I had. Once again, ZWO and their ASIAir impresses me.
So if you do an import from Telescopius to AAP, the coordinates are automatically converted to JNOW. You can watch this video for instructions to do the import: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TN8eUBbwm-A&ab_channel=astrojourneyuk

Basically, you create your mosaic in Telescopius, then hit the "copy CSV" button. Then go to Plan mode in the AAP, create a new plan, hit the import icon at the top of the screen, then cntrl-V to paste the data from Telescopius into the plan. Add your exposure and iteration info. When you exit that screen, it asks if you want to copy all the exposure and iteration data into all the other panes (very handy). You're done. Excellent!
