EFW to 183

I am trying to hook up my asi 183MC pro to the back of the 5 position efw. I have the adapter that the 183 screws into, then when I try to screw it into the back of the EFW it rubs on the filter carousel and stops it from moving. How should I attach it? Edit: The adapter is an M54 Male to M42 Female

This is how I have it attached to the camera, the male threaded portion goes into the mini efw and pushes against the filter wheel.

seanh The thread part on the adapter is too long, will rub on the filter carousel.

So, would a t2 tilter be the proper item to attach the 183mc pro to the back of the EFW Mini?

seanh If you want to connect 183 to 2" EFW, you can use a t2 filter, but if you have a EFW mini, you can directly connect it to 183

Are you sure you have an EFWmini wheel? Mine has a M42 hole for the camera end.

Remove the black T2 ring that is the normal flange that comes with the 183MC Pro. This exposes a M42 male connection. This picture shows the ASI183MM pro, but your 183MC pro should have the same flange.

The Mini EFW has an M42 female hole.

Screw the exposed M42 thread of the ASI183 into the female threaded hole of the EFWmini; there is enough clearance to not rub against the carousel:

I don't think you have the EFWmini, as you earlier asserted. The EFWmini is only available for 1.25" and 31mm filters.

OK, my bad. I have a ZWO EFW with 5 positions and it takes 2" filter.

I ran into the same problem with my 5 position 2" filter wheel. I reversed the filter wheel which provided clearance. They say there is an inside and outside to filters, but in practice I've noticed no difference. Several videos on youtube also confirming this.

Thank you. I had never considered this. Do you run into an issues with the wheels knowing what position it is in?
