AM5 Problems ?

I did the upgrade as suggested. The main problem is that the mount will not remember the equatorial mode when I power it on. I have to use the ASI Mount app on my phone to connect to the AM5--then it goes into equatorial mode...but when I power the mount off, it reverts back to to the red/green flashing. Is there a way to avoid using the ASI mount app on the phone to get into equatorial mode?

spncr It will remember the mode you set last time, the red/green flashing means it hasn't synced the time and location, you need to sync it in the ASI Mount app or ASIAIR app.

Seems the power supply is not enough and causes the mount to reboot
that's why it flashes green/red and need to re-sync the time and location again

Hi, what does a flashing red light mean? Is it an indicator that it needs more power? My setup is Redcat 71, AM5, ASIAIR Pro, asi2600 mc, 120mm mini, ASI EFW and EAF. It will guide fine for 20 minutes and then I need to go to home position, then when i slew back to target, it will guide again for 20 minures and loose the star and mount flashes red on/off. AWCO a flashing red light mean

Red light flashing means AM5 is tracking under equatorial mode.
Green light flashing means AM5 is tracking under Az-Alt mode.

Do you have any ideas why the guiding may have stopped at 20 minutes based on my info? Also, is a 12v plug in a battery to power the am5 with the ASIAIR pro powered by the mount sufficient power or would a power plug to power the am5 etc be more beneficial? No clouds as it was perfectly clear. Thank you

We recommend 12V 3A power for AM5 itself.
If your AM5 needs to power other devices, you need to count and add the power consumption of other devices.

Hi, as I trouble shoot this more, I’m seeing that my power cable to the mount is coming loose and reconnecting which then of course throws off the guiding. Since the am5 doesn’t have a connector that can be locked down like the avx, my power cables don’t secure very well. I do have another power cable I can try out but I’d like to know Do you have a recommended power cable that you’ve had good experience with that stays firmly connected? Appreciate your thoughts. I see on Facebook and astrobin that some other new am5 owners may have the similar guiding problems that this loose power cable could be causing. It would be great to resolve this for all. I’m also noting that teh am5 has my correct time while the ASIAIR app is an hour earlier. How can I adjust the ASIAIR app to reflect the correct time? Thanks again and clear skies

Can you submit feedback and upload the log in ASIAIR, our team can check the log and try to find the issue.

We recommend you use the long cable provided in ASIAIR, that cable is tighter.
