Could be your mount for some reason disconnected when slewing home.
See if you can strain relieve the USB connector at the mount.
Connectors are not meant to be mounted on something that moves; the good designs use USB connectors which have locking screw(s). See if you can double back the cable and then use Gaffer tape to additionally keep the USB socket from wiggling in the socket.
Here is an example on strain relieving an unsecured connector by doubling back the cable and then with additional Gaffer tape (post #5):

You may need one at each end of the cable if both ends of the cable moves when slewing the telescope.
Double check that your power connector has a 2.1mm center pin and not the higher power 2.5mm pin version.
Another possibility is that the 12V supply to the mount droops when the slew starts. See if you can test by using a good 12V power supply, through at least a 18 AWG cable. I use this to supply my equipment (adjusted to 13.75V since the third generation ASIAIR seems to cut off at 13.8V):
