Kevin_A I am curious to know how much any vibration adds to actual star size!
If the HFD of a star is about 3 arcsec, and assuming (probably good assumption) that fan vibration is independent of atmospheric turbulence, the star should bloat to sqrt( 33 + xx ) in the direction of vibration. Where x is the deflection in arcseconds.
I just downloaded this to try on a cloudy night:

Mesuring before and after vibration mitigation is the only objective way, plus the app should be able to predict the amount of vibration.
Notice the example shows them measuring a computer fan :-)
