Totally agree Chen about the minmo comments.
Back a couple years ago, I didn't pay attention because most of my imaging was at very large image scales with an azgti. As you found out with the rst135, these mounts need to be way more responsive to errors. We'll see if they change it back to 0.2. I truly hope not. I think they're chasing a firmware or hardware issue with the am5 by messing with guiding parameters, which is like treating the symptom, not the root cause. But what do I know.
As to switching back to a PC. Nope, not gonna. Closed ecosystem and all with the asiair, I'm done with windows except post processing. And I hope some day to get that changed also.
As far as the asiair impeding learning about AP, I respectfully disagree on that one. Just like many tout mounts that "disappear" into the background as helping the novice concentrate on the parts of AP that matter, like data gathering, calibrations and so forth, the asiair simplifies workflow. Just line other software does, like NINA for example, but in a much simpler way. While it's nice to learn why polar alignment is important, and reminisce about why we use(d) polar scopes and how, times have indeed changed. Just like cars nowadays. How many of them are manual transmissions? Automation does indeed remove us from direct involvement with the process somewhat, but that doesn't preclude the user from digging in and studying the whys and wherefores on their own.
As for the last thing. I'm beating my head against the wall with that right now. I forgot my am5 hand controller. Some firmware update now requires I turn dst off iny mount which I cannot do here. So I lose an hour of imaging every night while the mount sits around and waits for the real meridian flip to happen. Please zwo, fix this once and for good. Other software can deal with this just fine. It's a shame such a basic thing is still not handled right.
And you may be right. Maybe no one at zwo is paying attention here. But I do see those emails saying they'll look into it. I'm an optimist. Let's put some hope into this. I'm sure zwo doesn't want to start losing customers. I will end up selling my two asiairs for sure if they go back to the 0.2 pixel minmo. As much as I hate windows. And I really, really hate windows. Lol.
