Tech@ZWO i really hope you put the minmo back to 0.1 from 0.2 in the final public beta as I tested the beta out and it really hurts the AM5 performance…. As 0.2 is too slow for harmonic mounts.

I've been testing the Beta for a couple of days with the Nikon Z9. Has some work needed, but promising start.

How did you access to that beta? There isn't a TestFlight code for it in this forum...

I received a testflight notification a few days ago. I think it was on one of the facebook pages.

Kevin_A Hi Kevin, could you share some PHD2 log with us? and what is the firmware version of your AM5? update to the latest version to try.

Tech@ZWO my mount is using the latest firmware. I did send logs a while back.
As Chen and some others have stated… harmonic mounts do not like a bigger minmo as they benefit from 0.1 or less.

Tech@ZWO the issue with the beta and increasing the minmo from 0.1 to 0.2 is… A MinMo of 0.2" means that if the guider sees an error of 0.19", it will not issue a pulse. And, given the slopes of the AM5 strain wave gears, that error will most likely continue to accumulate to 0.39" before Asiair will attempt to correct (by the time it is too late, it already well behind the curve, and latencies like that will cause a close loop system to become unstable. With the Beta I saw in increase in constant small sawtooth patterns as it fell behind. The AM5 slopes are sometimes too fast for such a slow response.
This is why I have been asking for an experimental feature or advanced tab for the AM5, as harmonic mounts and worm gear mounts need different Minmo settings. My iOptron Gem mount loved higher minmo but not my AM5.

@Tech@ZWO can you please share details of where yo download it? Thank u

SFvEfpOl The public beta version will be released these two days.
          Thank you for your support

evilc Glad to tell you that R6 MARK II support is also in this public beta version.
That will be nice if you could test it.
