No... That's all software... 🙂

Making it appropriately robust and appropriately balanced to do Eq is not software!. Larger is not software. Newer faster/higher res sensor is not software alone (and would require a more powerful (or possibly more than one) computer.

Having said that, if it made it a $5k instrument, provided it all fitted in the overhead locker of a plane in its own perfectly sized box, I'd buy it.

thats right, EQ not. Chip limits things as well. Meant the rest like star map or mosaic.

Yes waiting for S70 or S80, ZWO can you make this for us?

Yes ZWO, I'm waiting for the S70, when is this coming?

What's the point in asking for a larger S model if they cant sort out the firmware/software issue that users are requesting for the S50. Get this one right with all the needs of the user and then maybe look at releasing a larger version, or it will end up with the same issue we have now.

They will not develop/announce a new "S70" until they maximize the selling of the current S50 because of the Osborne effect

If they can totally bork the S50 like they have with this latest pathetic update, I am steering well clear of any successors.

I own the Celestron Origin and the S50. They are both terrific devices that have made astro-imaging easy & fun. I think ZWO has provided tremendous value for the price point. Mosiac is coming and that will be great, but for $500 this is a hell of a telescope.
ZWO is a leader in their field. I expect they will continue with software development to be competitive and they will deliver new models in due time.
By the way, the Origin is an outstanding quality instrument and incredibly fast at f2.2. Is it worth it? Value is an individual perception.

NGC007 I don't understand the question, but I will say both the S50 & the origin are so well automated that you can produce good results without being a advanced user.

If there is ever a successor to the S50, it would be great if it were as compact as the S50. I hardly have a unobstructed and free view in my city garden, to much houses and trees all around, it's hardly worth setting up one of my large telescopes. However, I can place the S50 with the small tripod perfectly on the chimney sweep exit on my roof and control it from inside. For me a successor should be similarly small and be able to stand on a narrow footprint. A higher resolution sensor and perhaps rotating to compensate for the field rotation would be great. You don't need more focal length, just a little more aperture.
