Hello everyone
At the moment there are more and more threads about problems with plate solving.
Unfortunately, I am also affected by this and I hope that someone can help or that ZWO will finally take care of these problems. Maybe Chen @w7ay has a solution 🙏
My problem is as follows. When I start photographing an object in the South East, everything works perfectly at the beginning. I also get a good to acceptable guiding with 0.4 to 0.7. The closer I get to the south, i.e. the meridian flip, the more I notice guiding deflections. About 30 minutes before the south, my system gets out of control. The guiding goes completely crazy and the image section changes.
From this point on, nothing helps me anymore. If I then do GoHome and GoTo again, plate solving is no longer possible. It revolves in an endlessly looping. The same happens when I switch the system off and on again.
This state then lasts until about 30 minutes to the south, i.e. 30 minutes after the meridian flip.
Then, as if by magic, everything runs perfectly again. The plate solving is carried out immediately and, as before, I receive good guiding.
The settings such as focal length and so on are correct the whole time. My setup is also well leveled and I pay attention to a good PA of 20-30 arc sec. GoTo Autocenter I have 10 sec exposure time and ISO 1600.
My setup ZWO AM5, ASI120MM Mini and ZWO Scope for guiding, RedCat 51 and 71, Nikon d750 and d850.
Cheers Marc
