Dear All.
This new update changes my Long/Lat to somewhere in China. I live in London England. I am unable to slew to any target in the database. I can see the constellation overhead, and I get a msg station item is beneath the horizon. I have re-entered my co-ordinate a dozen times, it keeps changing them back to China.

Happening to me, too. I was particularly irritated the other night when I wanted to get a picture before the clouds rolled in. I know it was less than a minute's delay, but so often that minute is needed!

PMTeam@ZWO I see. Still, at least for me, filter’s N/S directions are reversed. I just tried it out again and set time filter to approx current time. Then it is easy to see in the list, where object’s direction arrow points and compare it to the direction filter.

Since the update of the ASI AIR app (V2.1.2), I am unable to connect the AM5 to the AAM without a USB cable, wireless connection failed.
I'm using IOS.
Has anyone had the same experience, or does anyone know how to solve the problem?

@PMTeam@ZWO The new firmware has stopped working with my Sony A7R IV. I’m using the same camera settings and cables as before. Is there a way to rollback to the working firmware version on iOS?

Steps to reproduce:

  • power on the AsiAir Plus with no camera attached
  • attach the camera
  • the camera displays ‘pc’ indicating it’s being controlled by a computer
  • enabled the camera in the AsiAir app

Result:
The camera no longer displays ‘pc’ and the AsiAir cannot control it. (See the empty iso dropdown in the menu). Trying to take a preview picture results in ‘exposure failed’ message

Expected result:
The camera works as before

That's interesting. I did not think that was possible. I know when you update the app and then start the ASIAIR, it automatically updates the firmware to match the app. Apparently according to what you did, if you go back to a previous version on another iOS device, it then matches the firmware on the ASIAIR to the old app version. Apparently the firmware upgrade is embedded in the app because you would not necessarily have Internet access at that point to downloaded it from ZWO.

Unfortunately, you can't use the original iPad. else it will update back to the latest version. It would be nice if ZWO would allow rollback to the previous IOS version so we could restore in case a crippling issue occurs with a new update.

Hello, with the new release I have tried to connect my Nikon Z fc to the Asiair Plus with the settings suggested by Asiair. The camera is also recognized, but as soon as I start the exposure (in preview or also in live mode) an exposure error is reported. I have tested 3 different cables (USB-A to USB-C), unfortunately no change. With my Nikon Z50, this has been working with the new release with good results.

I have a second question. Is it possible to use the Nikon Z fc or the Nikon Z50 in video mode for planetary photography with the Asiair? The field for video mode does not appear on either camera.

I would like to use the Nikon Z fc as it can charge the battery via the USB-C interface.

Many thanks for your help! With best regards, Nikolaus

johnpd I also had to take the extra step of resetting the AsiAir to factory defaults, otherwise the old app recognizes it is trying to connect to a newer firmware.

I’ve turned off auto updates on the iPad so hopefully this keeps me imaging until the firmware is sorted.

L5rEAosd Hi, based on your description, guesses are related to the following reasons:
1 The power supply voltage may be insufficient. You can check whether the voltage value displayed on the ASIAIR app is normal (12V Power Port for Camera) when shooting. If the voltage is abnormal, please try to replace the 12V DC cable or power adapter
2 USB 3.0 cable problem. Please try to replace the USB3.0 data cable.
If you still can't solve it, please submit a log after occurring the problem. We'll help you troubleshoot the issue by checking the logs. Thank you so much

PMTeam@ZWO I’ve tried a different power adapter and a different USB cable and still get the same issue. Reverting the firmware solves the issues.

        I’ve filled bug report BT20240326158513A

I use ASiAir Plus, AM5, ZWOO AG on Mac and Iphone. Overall I would like to roll back as I get several issues, while I have been super happy with previous version and used it without an issue for more than a year. Setup hasn't changed.
        Issues:

        1. while capturing a light, AM5 starts to move or stop tracking, so I get about 50% of my lights with strange lines I attach one file. This maybe caused due to lost star or I get the lost star message due to the problem?
        2. Goto ,slew to center starts regular in-between lights even when I switch auto center off. Maybe thats related to topic 1.
        3. Camera hit pier extension during polar alignment. I accidentally started PA not from park position. But I am quite sure ? that before upgrade movement of the AM5 stopped at given points to not hit Pier.

Given topic 1 and 2 I only get about 1 hour of lights of 3 hours of capture time...

[unknown] @"PMTeam@ZWO" We have multiple user confirming the canon camera issue. Can you acknowledge and give an answer on what will be done to fix the bug and how long it will take?

I, too, am getting "exposure failed" or the AiR stops while trying to load. I, too, have replaced the PSs with NEW ZWO PSs and NO change. I have NOT tried changing the USB 3 cable. Tonight, I will try by 10a Battery feed with current cable and try it with a differnt cable!!
          Frustrated.

Thank you for new features! Also looking for "guide scope/camera polar align" feature to help us when we have a narrowband filter to Polar Align.

Jan75 no, it has no effect on accuracy or guiding… just slewing speed.

I have the same issue with my Canon T3i and release 2.1.2. Looks like the color channels are messed up. **My Canon T3i worked perfectly with the prior release of asiair. Glad I was not planning to use my asiair and Canon T3i for the total eclipse here in Dallas in a week. ZWO needs to make the prior release of the asiair app available so that customers can easily downgrade to the prior release of the app. Currently my T3i and asiair 2.1.2 is unusable.

Can you check the dimensions of fit files generated with V2.1.2 and compare it with fit generated with previous version. I bet you'll find a 1 pixel difference between the two.
