Corsair Hello. The log has been updated.
ASIAIR v2.2.2 has been released!
RLamb Hello. ASIAIR Plus 2023 and later versions support BLE. ASIAIR 2600 Air also supports.
PMTeam@ZWO
Hello everyone.
Regarding the network connection problem, we have paid attention to your comments and error reports. We are analyzing and trying to solve the problem.
We recommend that you try to roll back the firmware - uninstall the APP - download the latest software package in the APP store and upgrade the firmware; in addition, you can also try to connect the LAN port of ASIAIR to the LAN port on the home router.
We will solve the problem as soon as possible, thank you for your support.
PMTeam@ZWO
There is no LAN port on the new 2600MC Air camera.
PMTeam@ZWO "We recommend ..." => I've tried all of those tests, without success.
I now have an AAmini that I can't use, and an AA+ with guiding issue.
Not happy ...
I inform you all that in Spain we have filed a joint complaint, with more than 100 signatures, against the company zwo, for violation of the free code and abuse. Apart from defrauding and deceiving customers with Asiair Plus, we are going to do everything possible to stop these people from selling their products in Europe.

Please ask your representatives to also investigate whether ZWO's USB 3.0 hardware is really compliant with industry standards.
ZWO sells their hardware as being USB compliant, but assumes that the customer themselves may need to test with a variety of cables, until the customer finds one in the goldilocks zone which matches ZWO's device. ZWO should not be allowed to label their products as being USB compliant if it does not work with cables and devices from other companies that are complaint.

As a follow up to my recent issue with the Planetarium part of the AISAir Plus firmware upgrade: In addition to no grid lines I found that during my session it lost proper connection with my scope mount. I had to shut the system down and do a realignment. After focus and polar alignment and taking images for about 40min I decided to move to a new target using the planetarium 'target go to' command. Half way there my scope stopped while the Air said it was still moving, but staying in place. I went to preview and did a plate solve. The Air said it was on target, but I could see it was not. I returned to the Planetarium to realize it thought the scope was pointing at an area of the sky on the other side of the earth. I then realized it had lost connection to the mount and the mount needed to do a new alignment. I hope there are no more issues with this firmware update still to be discovered.
DrJ I then realized it had lost connection to the mount
This is often a "mechanical" issue instead of an "electrical" issue. USB connectors are not meant to be used on devices that moves. The contacts are small and fragile. As the mount slews, the data connection can momentarily loose contact.
It happens most often at certain mount angles when gravity causes the cable's weight to pull the USB connector just a teeny tiny bit towards ground, but enough to lose connection. Unfortunately for us, Meridian flips tend to do that :-).
Many manufacturers provide USB (and power) plugs and jacks that have screwed strain relieves when they know that their USB device can move during proper usage (OWC even sells one that works with USB-C connectors). None of ZWO products have them.
You may want to attempt a more solid connection by folding back the cable near a connector and then securing it so that is does not move. You can use velcro strips or cable ties. My favorite is the 3M snap-on types that allows me to quickly detach a cable, but I have also used the non-snap on types with small cable ties, for more permanent and more solid installations.

Here is an example of how I use the snap-on one:

Status update for testing 2.2.2
I had a full night of imaging without issues. PA, Autofocus on filter and temperature change, plate solve on plan mode targeting and WiFi - ALL worked for a full night without any issues.
Hardware used ASIAIR plus, AM5 mount, ASI533mm main camera, ZWO filter wheel, ASI278mm guider, ZWO EAF. LX200 8" EMC with Starizona mark IV corrector reducer giving final 1414mm focal length. Guider William optics 50mm at 207mm focal length. I noticed guiding was not using saturated stars as previously noted. A note about WiFi on ASIAIR. I only used to option to connect to my home network at 5Ghz - I did not use AP mode. I previously modified the ASIAIR wpa_supplicant to define my correct country code, not CN, and added priority sections for 5Ghz followed by 2 4Ghz for my network.I also was logged into the ASIAIR via SSH so I could monitor logs not normally available as I was expecting problems however I had no issues. I had no disconnects or any issues the entire night from 7:30pm to 6:15am. Guiding may have been slightly worse the normal but well within the pixel scale I was using. Stars nice and round.
I will give more updates as use it more -hoping for clear weather later next week ..
PS I modified my ASIAIR previously to permit SSH access. I use a Linux system to back it up fully every so often and to automatically download images and classify them.... I only changed the authorized-keys files and wpa files - nothing else
Ok, so a bad evening with the Asiair Plus...or should I say Minus because I wasted some imaging time..
It was going ok for a short while, but I was never 100% confident and always stayed close by in case of problems.
Tonight, I targeted the Dark Shark Nebula for only 30 subs in Autorun....no problems and went smoothly. After it was over, I asked that it go to M31. it went to target, then it IMMEDIATLEY slewed away south again...this time I did not get to it in time and wires got tangled. I have less and less confidence in your product ZWO. And I'm leaning towards learning N.I.N.A.
If it's my error, then I don't know what I'm doing wrong as there seem to be more issues since the "upgrade" to 2.2.2. I'm not doing anything differently.
ZWO, it has been several weeks now and nothing has been fixed.
When should we expect results?
J
technofrio I live in Spain as well and have not heard of this great initiative. Can you share the link to sign with me please? Muchas gracias por adelantado!
synth That is the only way I can get it to work. Reinstalling software stalls when it can't find it's own AP on restarting!! I have lodged a bug report.

At the moment, I have two unreliable Asiair plus.
Get fed up of that situation and just ordered two MeLE Mini Pc with Pegasus power boxes.
Yes much more expensive than just using an Asiair plus, but I'll be back using N.I.N.A with no hardware limitation and much better support from N.I.N.A community.
At the end, Thank you ZWO to have forced me to look for an alternate astrophotography solution

Corsair Since updates 2.2.1 and also with latest 2.2.2, networking in station mode is just impossible on my two Asiair Plus !
Their connecting normally to my network after rebooting the asiair, but after a certain time, they just stop broadcasting and can't be reached over the network without shutting the asiair down and rebooting it.
Disabling Station mode and using the direct connection with the built-in Asiair network was working though.
I've installed and reinstalled firmwares many times with factory reset every time without any improvements. I've sent log and report to ZWO, but they never attested about the issue.
My network is strong and reliable and it was working before recent updates.
Guiding was not consistent with perfect sky conditions, but they seems to have fixed that issues with the 2.2.2 with last test I did ( both beta and official)
Polar alignement is still inconsistent.
With that been said, I went back using my laptop + Nina and phd2, and all was consistent.
Good and reliable networking, good guiding, camera orientation based on previous imaging session was perfect, but I hate using a laptop outside, especially during the winter.
Asiair firware doesn't seems to be an high priority level for ZWO, at least that's my feelings with recent updates.
Will see what I'll do next with both Asiair, but for now I'm still keeping them crossing my fingers
synth Further to previous post this is the reply to my bug report â Thank you for your feedback.
We've reproduced the issue and found a solution. We'll release a version soon, so wait a minute.â

Hello. We have reproduced the network connection problem and are trying to solve it .
For the current version, we have a temporary solution, reset wifi, unplug the cable to power off ASIAIR, plug in the cable to power ASIAIR again, and restart the APP. We have tried this solution in most cases and it can solve the problem. You can try it, thank you.
PMTeam@ZWO : Thanks for this information, but this DOES NOT solve the problem. I tried this fix almost 3 weeks ago without success : the AAmini loses its default WIFI hotspot after each reboot. Now, there is no WIFI information anywhere on the ASIair, the fields are empty, just a weird s/n that doesn't show up on a WIFI scan. My home network is robust, I have no pb with all my other devices connected on it, and no pb with ZWO devices before this 2.2.2 version.
I really hope the next release will solve all the bugs so we can use ASIair again. 3 weeks is a long time to wait, and no comet pictures.
Sad !
