ASIAIR v2.3 Public Beta Released!
Yesterday I was out and about with Asiair Plus and beta-firmware 2.3 (Android) + ASI2600MC Pro. Platesolving for polar alignment would not work, although 3000 stars were recognized. After a few attempts back to Preview and there Detect. Back to Polar Alignment and now the Platesolving worked.
In Preview, the scroll bar for the exposure time remained at 60 seconds and could not be changed to a longer time. In autorun mode, however, 300 seconds was also possible.
Otherwise the system worked. The meridian flip also worked perfectly.
wvreeven Can you PLEASE finally make sure that it is possible to manually set a filter and that that gets written into the FITS headers?
Wouter, instead of waiting some more for ZWO (which is forever, now that they are focused on selling more trinkets), at the cost of an EFW, or if like me you already have a spare one from the past, you can always connect an EFW to ASIAIR, whether it is part of the imaging train or not. Just place it on the side, and connected through USB to ASIAIR.
You can then have a selection of filter names which you can use, and be included in the FITS Header. The ASIAIR would not know any better.
The EFW can be much smaller than your filters, too. I use a 36mm one that no longer works with the larger sensors today.
Better solution is still not to be stuck with ASIAIR.

zwo2_jacky I had a similar experience with the same camera. Went out last night and could not polar align. Same on other star fields. Plate solves were failing 100%. Restarted camera, same issue. Finally used their alternate plate solve method and that worked. Very odd. Never went back to see if regular plate solving worked or not. Will try again tonight.
However Wifi seemed better, zero disconnects using station mode. And no corrupted images, which was a random, serious problem with the last version.
Hello. Thanks for the new update. But could you add changing the resolution (as it is in ASISTUDIO) in the 2600AIR?
And another thing, with the 2600AIR, I imagine that as it happens in the 2600DUO, when using 3nm narrow band filters, it is impossible to track stars with the guide sensor. Thanks
Sounds like the CAA will be only available for the Duo cameras or dedicated guide scope. As it has 16.5 mm width, it's impossible to use it with an Off-Axis, so it's useless for those of us who have an Off-Axis LF+Filter Wheel+Camera... So we will have to keep rotating manually, I'm afraid.

Hello. Could you please send us the error report and screenshots? We need more details about the problem you encountered. Thank you for your help. The premise is that your ASIAIR is not turned off. If it has been turned off, please try polar calibration again. If you encounter an error, send us the log and we will solve it.
PMTeam@ZWO I don't understand your meaning. The ASIAIR was turned on and would not plate solve. This time I did not turn it off and back on. I did send logs earlier this evening. You should have them.
I'm glad to try anything you suggest.. plate solves worked before this latest update. Of course the ASIAIR is built into the 2600MC Air camera.. so I have to turn off the whole unit. I did try a power cycle the previous night and it made no difference.
Still no fix for Sony A1

Testing latest beta. Several issues. Station mode is still not stable. Direct connect 2.5g looses connection every 15-20 minutes. Fix is to turn off wifi on phone and back on. Then it reconnects fine. Bug report with logs sent.
azskyguy Hi. After sending the log, our developers will review and comment on it. You can check the follow-up comments on the APP later.
skyhunter121 Hello. Sony A1 is on our support list. What problem did you encounter?
Set up and imaged with the 2600MC Air last night. Same as previous night, plate solves simply don't work unless I use your alternate method. Polar alignments also still don't work, but the workaround is to use your alternate 3 point method which worked fine. What has happened to plate solves?
Sent logs from the previous night.
Hope you can resolve this.

The new beta seems ok, except one important aspect: the guiding doesn't function properly: it increase rapidly to very big values like 9, 10. Please check.
@PMTeam@ZWO : Also, an extremely important functionality that is still missing for Autorun and Plan is center after drift - it is crucial, because, in the case of a prolonged session, if they are clouds for example for an hour or two, when the clouds disappear the target is no longer centered.
Still not resolved is this nasty start screen rotating error on my ipads. First landscape (horizontal) mode with a sky object in red, then it rotates to the side with an image of the ASIAIR plus and "enter device", next scrren is your APO telescope which rotates upside down, then there is a screen to connect on of my two ASIAIRs (still upside down). an the it enters finally the "as easy as 1-2-3" screen (upside down. Then you have to hard stop the app and restart another time the whole APP with 4 screens to get it right, or you turn your whole ipad 180° around. I have never seen such an stupid start of an app. I would request to have an option to disable all the start screens and go directly in the app. Same when I change to my other ASIAIR - no questions needed.
My other recommodation would be an automatic temperature coefficient calculation. after some nights and some dozends AF procedures the EAF (with temperature sensor) should know the right focus position depending on the temperature. Should be easy to implement and would be very helpful.
My last wish is the maximum AF step size - in the moment limited to max. 200. I use a Planewave CDK17 and a Celestron RASA36 with the ZWO EAF, to adapt them to these big telescopes I built a toothed belt drive with very fine transmission for high precision. I need a AF step size of 1000 or at least 500 AF step size for a proper parabolic curve.

Please consider adding ASIAIR power port controls (on, off, %) to the autorun process.
Filter offsets please! I would like to avoid having to run autofocus between filter changes.
