  • Seestar v2.1.0 has been released!

Tech@ZWO Didn't fix the filter bug. It's still not turning filter on auto, must do it manually.

For those whom it may concern: read that damn tutorial before you ask! The answers are in there for all your questions. Continuous shooting, mosaic mode, etc. Read, read, read!

I would be delighted if the manual and the tutorials were available in an easy-to-read and up-to-date version as a PDF and not just as tutorials in the app. There they are difficult to read due to the inverse font. Apparently, some of the tutorials are only accessible via the three dots when the Seestar is switched on. In addition, they are apparently not completely up-to-date with the current interface of the app. I would like something that I can read during the day before watching in the evening.

However the Level calibration method in the tutorial is not too useful, indeed. Open the arm, put a bubble level on Seestar.... This is how it DOES NOT work, because to read the bubble level accurately, you have to look at it direclty from the top. Which you cannot do, because of the arm.

Yes, I would like to look into a Manual outside the App.

I downloaded the new version all right but didn't get the tutorials. How do I fix that?

        Great update!

Framing mode is the best way to avoid field rotation and increase resolution, very very nice.

Gulyas K You should use the "bubble level" in the app. What i'm doing is to level the tripod then add the S50.

LA3QMA You misunderstood. What you say is adjusting the level. But for accurate adjustment, you have to calibrate the level sensor. So I was talking about level calibration. You were talking about level adjustment. 🙂 Two different things.

Thank you ZWO...!!! Can't wait to try the new framing feature. The ability to enlarge and/or rotate the FOV is excellent. I've got a 6-hour window of super-clear skies tomorrow night and am looking forward to getting some longer exposures of the eastern and western parts of the Veil Nebula, and a few additional targets...

The framing feature is fantastic!. The ability to vary the size & rotate is so much fun. ZWO continues to deliver value! I am a Celestron Origin owner and my Seestar50 is every bit as valuable in my astro-imaging pursuits. I really enjoy the telescope. The stacking of video for the sun and moon is amazing.

Tech@ZWO great update. but some things would be nice.
many picture are denied and could not been stacked. so 3.5h of grabbing will only get 1 - 1.5h of pictures.
processing of stored pictures is complicated due to mosaic mode, if a satelite cross the pictures, many work is lost. a restacking with deleted star trail pictures would be nice.
as it take very long to get a complete or good picture, a resume mode would be nice to restart the taking of pictures at the next day would be nice

best regards and thanks for the good stuff. S30 was just preoredered

and another idea. it would be nice to store the FOV, so if i have several S50 or S30, to share and to set up them at the same FOW to get more Pic of the same target and therefore a better result

Does iPad need to be connected to S50 to get this update ?
                Tnx
