I downgraded to version 2.3.3 with an old Android phone I have here and practically all the problems I had disappeared (Meridian Flip, Inverse Meridian, Plate Solve, PA, Auto Focus).

I'm going to keep this up for a long time and, although the phone always updates to version 2.4.1 automatically, I delete the app and install version 2.3.3 again.

I believe that mistakes happen in the development process and that the ZWO team can correct them and bring back the magic of this excellent product.

Since you're on Android, you can set just that app not to auto upgrade. Just go to the app in the Play store, tap the three dots on the upper right corner, and uncheck the auto upgrade option.

It was the first thing I set up. I don't know how, the app has already updated twice. When this happens, I solve it easily by uninstalling 2.4.1 and reinstalling the downloaded one. It takes 2 minutes and saves me hours of headache.

I'm already on my third night of capturing with no problems.
The Meridian Flip happens at the right time, I have no problems with Plate Solve or Auto Focus.

Why don't they just re-release 2.3.3 as the newest version and let everyone at least get back to imaging????? I do have it with the test flight app but it is not something most would do, particularly if they have not been following along with this post.

And where have they been with regards to keeping us updated??

Allsky PA testing with ASIAIR 2.4.1 (12.35). All zwo hardware. AM5 ASIAIR PLUS.

Tonight I tested allsky PA with a few stars in the big Dipper towards my north west. Good news It worked without previous drifting! (no drifting with refresh only at least for this area of sky).

The UTC mismatch bug still occurs between what the ASIAIR thinks of the mount and what the mount thinks. I filed a bug report. Summary: Only opening the AM5 atlas app first - then - opening the ASIAIR app fixes the UTC mismatch. FYI my correct UTC is utc-4. Details: This time I again verified gps fix with an app. Next I started ASIAIR waited for location to correctly display after a few seconds and continued into ASIAIR PLUS application. ASIAIR reported utc-5 (wrong). Syncing or restarting ASIAIR did not change this. Next opened AM5 atlas app and only examined the UTC offset which was utc-4. Exited app. Restarted ASIAIR - now AM5 was utc-4. This may be just a bug in updating the offset as it doesn't seem to effect operation during testing so far

Just a followup to my successful PA report.
I found afterwards that my adjusted elevation was wrong by using an inclinometer. It as wrong by about 6 degrees!. Although imagining worked because of guiding there was small field rotation in the image edges. I have a 3 degree precision level for leveling but I will try my Digi-Pas level tonight which has arc minute accuracy to do leveling.
So tonight or tomorrow I will move to an area were I can do both normal PA the attempt all sky PA and report the difference.

I have an old Android phone, a Huawei P30 Pro. I downloaded the APK package using the link provided here on the forum for version 2.3.3. I downgraded ASIAIR to the factory version (Firmware) and then updated with this phone to the equivalent firmware. Now I operate ASIAIR only with this cell phone, since the current phone is an iPhone and I can't downgrade with it. Yesterday I used it normally without any of the problems I had.

Remember:
For Apple - to disable auto updates - you can only do this for all apps via the App Store app. However, if you install the ASIAIR App via TestFlight, I think you can disable app updates for just the ASIAIR App in TestFlight.

For Android - to disable auto updates - you go to the Play Store app, then go to the ASIAIR App product page, tap on the triple dot menu in the top right of the screen, then untick the auto update box.

My experience with 2.4.1 is plate solving is definitely slower. EAF routine cannot find focus star, but scope is in good focus from EAF running previous night on previous version. Using ASIAIR mini on AVX and D5300 camera.

What version does ASIAir Mini revert back to if I click the reset firmware button. I’m at a dark site this week, and I don’t want to screw myself further. So frustrating. ZWO please push a reversion update that works as well as it did before!

i hope this link above works, if not just scroll up 2 days or so to see the post from Cosair. my understanding is that when you reset the air reverts to original software and firmware (years ago). you then need to update to whatever version you wish

Hn2z7ENs Follow up. I returned from my dark site trip and started using my other setup and found same issue with EAF not finding a suitable focus star. This happens about 50% of the time, and will work sometimes without me changing anything. I’m running two ASIAirs on two different scope, 700mm and 300mm with same camera (D5300). Both with broadband filter, so lots of good stars to pick from. The ASIAir also beeps for no apparent reason while in Plan mode and imaging.

I've told literally dozens of ASIAir users in my club, on CN, and Astrobin to follow it.

Your silence on fixing this is deafening, and there are people switching back to MiniPC's if they had one. Those guys probably won't come back to your ecosystem.
