Planning in EQ mode

This is a problem with the Seestar app on Android devices, but it has been fixed in the latest version. What is your firmware version?

It's not fixed. Frame shows as AZ and is not aligned with EQ grid. Latest app and fw.

This is because you are not connected to Seestar; what you see on your screen is the equatorial mount’s red frame.

But it should work properly w/o connection.
Plan earlier without telescope, upload and execute later. That is proper behavior.

Support@Seestar No, you can't. The frame has the correct rotation in EQ mode only when you are connected to the S50. When you plan off line it is messed up. There should be no need for the S50 to be on just to create a plan. Please fix.

This is not a bug, as it was designed this way. You can choose the framing and target alignment yourself even without connecting the device. I can pass this request on to the team for evaluation—if it’s rejected, I’ll let you know; if you don’t hear back, that means this request is already in the plan.

My takeaway from this is, forget EQ mode if I want to use a plan with a frame, use alt az instead. I sure hope they fix it.

O5w77p3o I am not sure I follow. I use planing mode with 2x mosaic frames in EQ mode almost exclusively and it works. Why would you "forget it"?

See the attached image to see what we the users are seeing. When trying to plan in EQ mode, the target window defaults to alt/azimuth orientation, even after changing the grid to EQ mode. The target window should be parallel with the lines in degrees in EQ mode. In this example, that would be the 31 degree line. Are users support to manually realign the frame? Given the software can align properly when setting up to do live using the Sky Atlas, this should also work when doing planning too.

To clarify, the top of the frame where it says Target should be parallel with the line in degrees, in this example the 31 degree line.

T92qB99X Yes, it should but it doesn't unless you are connected to the S50 while creating the plan. This seems to be the intended behavior, for some obscure reason. A pain, yes, but not a show stopper.
