The frame rotation shown in planning mode is the rotation if I were to take the image now, as I make the plan, in Alt/Az mode. This is useless, as I make the plans during the day, the rotation of the gray frame should reflect the rotation of the image at the time the capture will be made, for example during the middle of the time range for the capture, as in Alt/Az mode it will rotate.
In EQ mode, which you can actually select while planning, there should be no frame rotation at all, that's what EQ mode is all about. The orientation of the gray frame is known and it does not depend on the time or date at all, the top of the frame should always point to the North Pole.
