Looks like time to switch to StellarMate.
The major astrocamp for the year - under B1 sky - is in 2 weeks and need this lot working again, reliably.

Pretty clear ZWO are not going to deliver.

Can v2.3.3 be re-released AGAIN for iOS with no expiration date for those having problems with v2.4.3? These buggy updates are a waste of valuable nights. Either that or maybe it is better to get off ASIAir and go to NINA?

If you want a working rig the options are:

switch to ToupTek StellaVita, which allows more options for astrocameras, focusers etc but no DSLRs and no autorotator (which might be a good thing ultimately).
switch to StellarMateX, for all the bells & whistles but looks difficult to operate on a small screen;
switch to a NUC + Windows, NINA, PHD2, SharpCap (polar alignment), and the rest; or
wait forever.

Once people have a working solution they wont be back to ZWO.

I would also like to see v2.3.3 available for iOS again, as I also have major problems with v2.4.2.
I would then control my EAF Pro via USB, or v2.3.3 would receive parallel support for the new EAF Pro.

You could also get an Android phone or tablet (has to meet minimum system requirements but doesn't have to be latest and greatest) for your ASIAIR

You can then easily downgrade to whatever firmware you want AND, because you can explicitly say not to update just the ASIAIR App on android, enjoy that firmware for as long as you like.

You could also choose to never update your device OS as well if you want to ensure a completely static and stable astro environment.

I'm still on 2.1-10.74 with my ASIAIR Plus 32GB.

Just a note: unless you really have to - never update the ASIAIR App/Firmware.

Note: with Apple, due to Apple restrictions, you can only turn off auto update for all apps.

I'm actually running two AA+ with AM5s - one on iOS ipad with 2.4.2 and the other on an android smatphone on 2.3.3. The later is pretty stable the former is not. Of course, I like using the bigger iPad screen though. Hence wanting to revert back ro 2.3.3 for iOS.

Also, when both setups were on 2.3.3, iOS was more stable than android (eg less random disconnects).

Where can i get these APKs? I'd love to downgrade to something that works? Thats the easiest solution for me right now. (I'm an Android user, so getting the right tablet/phone
not an issue for me.

+1 to extend 2.4.9 indefinitely on iOS. Test flight shows it expiring in 16 days. It sounds like 2.4.2 is still a beta at best and I don’t want to waste the few clear nights I get here in the Pacific Northwest of the US dealing with buggy software. Thanks, J

Just rolled back to the 2.4.9 TestFlight version. For some reason 2.4.2 causes all kinds of issues right now with my SQA55 scope and 533MCPro camera. I’m on vacation right now and decided to bring the SQA55 with me.
As it was 2.4.2 was released the evening before I left and decided to update my iPhone ASIAIR app. And since I’ve worked without many issues in 2.4.1 I decided to update the ASIAIR without thinking. How foolish I was.
Right now I’m near Follonica, Italy and I decided to test my rig. It was completely clear but there’s an almost full moon. But there are sufficient stars so I decided to test the rig. For some reason now the gain on my 533Mc pro is really low. 100 used to be quite right but with an l-extreme filter hardly any stars are visible. Even with a 5 minutes guided exposure I don’t see many stars. PA and autofocus works without a problem but any exposure is really bad. Preview, Autorun or Plan mode, they all result in hardly any stars.
When switching back to the IR/Cut filter things change for the better but I want to do some emission nebulas. So l-extreme has to work. Now after a disappointing one hour in the field I decided to call it quits. When getting back inside I realized there still was the TestFlight version so I just rolled back to that version. Tomorrow there’s another clear night so let’s see if things improve a bit with this older TestFlight version.

I have the same problem. Won't plate solve after a flip. Is anyone at ZWO checking these posts. I reported this more than a week ago. Seems a pretty serious error. I'm on an AM3 mount.

The issue is the Prolific driver for the AVX mount. Follow the instructions on the post. Hopefully it rectifies mount issues for you.

Corsair It worked, sort of. I was running the wrong OS. I missed the fact that you need a different OS image fir Celsstron mounts, kne that includes the Celestron driver.

Now I'm back to the cant-polar-align problem.

I have v2.4.3 on my Android phone to control ASI2600Air camera, installed in last few days. I’m now having issues with star guiding, don’t know if it is related, keep losing star during calibration. Also, I can revert back to the factory installed 2.4.2 but cannot use it, keep getting an update to 2.4.3 request which I have to action in order to proceed further on the app. Totally confused here.

My asiair pro has a huge drift problem with dithering/guiding. The top 15 to 20% of my image has to be cropped.

Bug report submitted with screen shots. Please fix asap! Being able to dither/drizzle is critical for my wide field setups.

Hi,
I was surprised after the last firmware upgrade of my ASIAIR. I had a guide rms between 0.5 to 0.8 on my AN5n, but after the last upgrade it’s down to 0.16 to 0.33. The good, but strange thing is that there are very few corrections.
Is this real or just makup. How can the Asiair firmware fix the tracking on the Am5n? I also found a bug in preview. The downloadbar stops when almost finished, even if the frame is finished download.

Need to know details of your rig - what the guidescope and camera were.

If this was guided with the little 30mm ZWO guidescope, I am not surprised.

I use a ASI2600MC DUO guiding at 254mm MCT 3000 mm focal length and I have never, ever seen values below 0.2 arcsec.

When the guider shows insanely low guide errors this only means the guiding errors are smaller than what the guidescope can accurately measure. Bear in mind you are using a guider that cannot resolve any better than 3 arcsecs.

When I goto from a .fit image, the target name in preview and autorun don't change.
Is it normal ?
Can you change this in order to see the name of the target inside .fit ?

Just thought I would add my two penneth from using the new software on a mini in my usual observing spot last night. I didn't have a single reconnect while polar aligning which is unusual but I'm not attributing that to the new software just yet. However what I did have issue with is the histogram in video mode and the planetary stacking.

I don't remember it ever looking like this before.

And when I pressed edit on the stacked AVI I got this. The raw stack looks ok.
