Hi, have the latest Asiair app and still getting exposure failure with the Sony A7IV.
Anybody have any leads?
Thanks.
i switched to N.I.N.A with the sony ascom driver and this was the best decision for me.
I should have never bought the ASIAIR is just Nina, PH2 and eqmod software put into an app and the server part running on ARM. As the release cycle of asiair is so long we have to wait months to fix some problems. Many problems also come from converting the code to ARM I think.
Good morning, I'm new to the group, greetings to everyone.
I purchased Asi air plus, to use it with my sony a7 RIV.
It does not work! I set all the Sony parameters
Mechanical shutter
Bulb mode
Raw uncompressed
Apsc disable
Zebra disabled
Usb Mon Single
Control remote pc
When I connect the camera with the USB C cable, Asi Air recognizes it, I enable it, but the ISO box is not activated
It doesn't give any errors but nothing works, I also tried connecting the DLSR cable. Same problem
Does anyone have any suggestions for me to solve the problem?
Hello. Will there be support coming for the Sony A7cR? I just bought the ZWO ASI air plus, and right now the A7cR is my Astro camera.
Is there a chance for support of the Sony ZV-E1 an/or the Sony A7R V?
ASIAIR 2.1.2 just came out and I am testing it with my Sony A7IV on firmware 2.01 and the ISO settings and exposure settings do not appear. Still getting the same error. This is very disappointing as I still have yet to use my ASIAIR in over a year
Hello Everyone,
I use the Asiar Plus since 1 month, with a Sony A7IV Camera (ILCE-7M4)
At first, it didn't work, like every one, I had some issues with the exposure time (max 30s),
So I decided to buy a shutter release cable :
It was working wonderfully !!! I was able to put the exposure time as I want,
I was soooo happy and had a really great experiences during 1 month
Since the new update, 11.01, nothing work's !
-> If I use the usb C cable+ Shutter release cable -> "Exposure failed, please check if the shutter release cable is connected properly"
-> If I use only the USB C cable -> Exposure failure
Of course, I tick or not the Asiair parameter
However, I followed all the parameters requested by ZWO...
We talked about this topic on a french forum, where you can see more pictures:
https://www.webastro.net/forums/topic/250906-asiair-avec-camera-sony-alimentation-nomade/
Moreover, before I was able to see the value of the ISO (I could not change it but only see the value)
Since the update, I can't even see it anymore
Same for the Exposure time, before,
Without the shutter realse cable, I was able to put the exposure time until 30s and took a picture,
With the shutter realse cable, I was able to put a free exposure time and took a picture,
Actually it's block at 1s, and I'm not able to took the picture
I also try to do some step back and re-install the 9.97,
It's well install on the Asiar, but the app on my iPhone won't start if I don't update it :
So I have several questions :
I'm very sad and disgusted, because this update makes my product unusable,
[update] And due to the setting of my app store, it's not possible for me to install the old version
Tech@ZWO If you need any informations, feel free ! I can do some tests for you !
Thanks
Adrien
Adrien I have the same problem. I can get everything to work perfectly with the a7iii but when I connect the a7iv, I always get exposure failed, even with the shutter release cable. The only solution I have come up with is to connect the a7iii for polar aligning an finding the target, then put the a7iv back on and use an intervalometer to take the photos.
The guide camera can probably be used for polar alignment as well if connected as the main.
It's a shame it doesn't work, hopefully the zwo team will fix it soon.
Hi AndreasK, as you have connected to SonyA7III succsessfully could you please let me know ASIAIR version and Sony adjustments? I do possess the SonyA7III but feel still unsafe to buy ASIAIR. Also I am not very experienced in trouble shooting.
Would be very helpful, thanks in advance.

Same issue here on A7R4 - used to work fine in the old version but not in the new one.
Same symptoms with ISO "N/A" and Exposure Failure and 1s exposure time.
Timm Hi Timm. I am using an Asiair Mini with the latest firmware. For the camera settings, I followed this article: https://www.yuque.com/zwopkb/asiair/lf7nd44fruq3vukh.
I have not used the a7iii for imaging as it is not astro modified like my a7iv. I polar aligned and took test shots with the a7iii, then switched to the a7iv and used an intervalometer to take the shots.
Everything ran smoothly with the a7iii while polar aligning and testing to see if it found the target, so I can only assume that the imaging part would have run smoothly as well.
I hope this helps.

I found a solution but this only works with Android devices.
-Open the ASIAIR app and install the old version.
-Then you reset the ASIAIR and switch it off.
-Then delete the app and go to the Play Store and deactivate automatic updates.
-Open this page and download this file and install it. https://apkpure.com/de/asiair/com.zwoasi.asiair/download/2.1
-It must be version 2.1-10.74 (Mar 3, 2023)
-If you haven't set up your Sony A74 then this video here will help you. https://youtu.be/5KsZ-79CsxA?si=iOp3ny7tVtD4GE4m
-You also need a SNAP cable for your camera and ASIAIR.
-Once you have everything connected, turn on your ASIAIR and leave the camera off.
-When the beep came, connect your Android device to the ASI Air and then turn on your camera.
-If the Sony A74 has connection problems, simply turn the camera off and then turn it back on.
I was able to connect my A74 and can use everything without any problems.
I hope I was able to help you and wish you clear nights.
