    PMTeam@ZWO build 603?
I'm asking as there's no changelog for that build on pgyer.

PMTeam@ZWO Are you using the iOS 16 version? iOS 16 does seem to have this issue, and we're also waiting for apple to fix it. Do you encounter similar problems with other landscape apps?

This was the answer to @possi , who had complained about "Tablet users have to turn their tablets."

The aspect ratio of your start screen (the window that has the "Enter Device" button) is what is causing the problem.

Get your graphics designers to design a landscape version of that start screen and the problems will go away.

If you are using Cocoa, NSSize of the NSRect of NSView.frame or NSWindow.frame should have the size.width be longer than size.height.

PMTeam@ZWO The new updated fixed the histogram problem and the asiair crashing randomly, however the slowiness of loading the preview after downloading still exist.

PMTeam@ZWO Yes, my camera is included in the list of compatible models, it has already been tested and works perfectly.
      Thank you so much!!!

Still waiting on some kind of descent histogram controls. Just having brightness and contrast isn't even close to enough.

Updated to version 2.1.49 and still seeing artifacts with Sony a6500. I'll try to include the fits file so you can see as well.

When selecting a camera, the phrase 'Turn off any power-saving and WIFI/NFC features current Camera does not support Bubl mode, the exposure limit is 30s.' appears. Does this phrase always appear? Or is there actually a problem with my settings?

Also, I am using a7m4. Switch to camera blue mode and press the shoot button in asiair Preview to display the phrase 'exposure failure'. If you select exposure time in ASIAIR APP for 1,5,10,30 seconds, DSLR changes exposure time to 1/30s, 1.6s. After all, the exposure time of the APP and the actual camera is different. And when you press the shooting button in ASIAIR APP, an error occurs in the same way as 'exposure failure'. M&Bulb and RAW conditions are all satisfied.

      PMTeam@ZWO
Everything you mentioned is set up. When you manipulate EXP in ASIAIR APP, the EXP value does not change. In addition, the phrase 'Exposure failure' occurs during filming. What's the cause?

w7ay even better make a button to remove all these unnecessary start screens (they are three of them...) and go straight in the app. Waste of time.

Version 2.1.51 (build 604) seems to has fixed also the problem of slow processing preview!

possi even better make a button to remove all these unnecessary start screens (they are three of them...) and go straight in the app. Waste of time.

The original ASIAIR switching was so buggy (leads to app crashes), so you had to relaunch the ASIAIR app. I think they added this upper level app (the one with the "Enter Device") so that the upper level actually quits the ASIAIR app and relaunches it!

The another reason is to fool a naive user into using their social media -- notice that other button in the "Enter Device" screen -- which may actually be part of that Enter Device app. And if I remember, there is yet another button to launch their mount control app.

Their problem is that the Enter Device app sends a portrait window to iOS, and the ASIAIR app sends a landscape window to iOS. They must not use the app themselves, otherwise it would have been obvious.

Please move the spinning circle to the side. If download speeds are slow or short exposures you never get to see the image , just the spinning icon.

When slewing to a target and auto plate solving, What is the Confirm 1,2 countdown button for? It's in the middle, I can't see the target and the button is gone in a couple seconds anyway. Suggest just make this a banner at the top of the screen, telling the user what is happening versus an obstructive pop up window.

If multiple ASIAirs are on the network, Put a couple toggle buttons at the top bar in the blank space for quick toggle between units. This Switch Device process needs to be faster and seamless to the user.

Syncing between multiple ASIairs needs implementing, for multi units on same mount. Pass the data and controls to the ASIair controlling the app. Since only one can used at a time, this would allow multi camera scope setups to synchronize the data, target, guiding data from unit to unit.

Histogram color balance, RGB, options. Sometimes the auto balance needs tweaking to deal with a gradient, light pollution etc, in Live mode.

Thanks for the updates and hard work !

Bvin Move the spinning circle to the side would be nicer to have it go across at the top like a banner.

Good to see others continuing to point out the bad start screen locked into portrait mode when your device is in landscape. @PMTeam@ZWO this is a defect/bug in the way your coded the app & splash screen and it doesn’t comply with Apple standards. It’s not an apple issue, it has nothing to do with iOS16. This issue has been around since the first closed beta of v2.0. Please don’t wait for apple to fix anything, there is nothing wrong with iOS16.

I agree with the others, most users would use a tablet in landscape mode - because your app is a FIXED-LANDSCAPE app, so why would you force-start the splash screen start in portrait?

To support the point it’s a ASIAir bug, when in that splash screen in portrait mode, swipe up to the home screen and you will see the home screen has been flipped to portrait by the ASIAir app, this is bad code telling iOS to flip to portrait and over-ride the sensor that tells the iPad it should be in landscape mode. The same issue exists on iPhones as well. It’s just especially annoying on ipads.

Fixed the Images Histogram auto-stretch calculation problem

Hi, it would be nice if the user can choose between 3 levels of "stretchiness", so please offer beside your standard 100% stretch window also 50% and 25% for very faint nebulosity objects. You can call it "Auto100", "Auto50" and "Auto25" if you want. Auto100 should be the default, not unstretched 0-65535, as it is now.

I agree with the others here, the portrait mode spashscreen is completely unnecessary.

            • w7ay replied to this.

possi I agree with the others here, the portrait mode spashscreen is completely unnecessary.

The initial splash screen (that starscape that you get when launching ASIAIR that is completely unloaded) is actually landscape.

After the landscape splashscreen, you get the portrait "Enter Device" portrait screen, and then get another splash screen (some image of their mount) that is in landscape, and then finally into the ASIAIR app in landscape.

So, from a fresh launch, you get landscape-portait-landscape. With two separate splash screens, neither is even neccessary. Enough to give one vertigo.

If iOS had done this to launch one of the native apps, Apple would be roasted on the internet. On iOS, you tap on the Photo app icon, and you get to the app immediately. No nonsense. ZWO still has much to learn about GUI. Perhaps they never read Tog's (Apple UI designer back in the early 1980s) book:

Chen, I completely agree. This is iOS, not Windows (always as many clicks and modal dialog boxes as possible ...). Launch the app and go directly to the app workspace. That would be as elegant and simple as possible.

Hi, I have the ASI Air plus. Recently purchased from OC Telescopes. I'd like to try my Sony A5100 camera. Is it possible that the A5100 can be supported? It was a very widely sold camera.
