Just as a test - can you see if turning off Mobile Data/Cellular Data helps?

Both with and without "Private WiFi Address" enabled.

I had the same issue - tried on an iPad and iPhone.

In the end I stumbled on a work around - if you disable Mobile Data for the app, it will successfully connect to the telescope (but not be able to use the social functions in the app at the same time.)

I've just updated the iOS app to 1.9.0 which they released a few hours ago... it still has the same issue.

I also reported this in the SeeStar app, but haven't heard anything back other than "Contacting engineers to resolve" 9 days ago.

I have an iPhone 12 , it connects, I have an iPad and it too connects.....I have an iPad Mini it with a sim for data etc....it does not connect...weird.

From ZWO support:
turn on airplane mode on the Iphone

then turn on WiFI and Bluetooth

and then try reconnect

there is a a funny bug on the IOS right now that is causing some upsets with direct connects

try that

when it comes to authentication once you get to the authenticate screen - swap you device wifi to an internet connection then press authenticate .... then swap back to Seestar

see if that fixes the issue

Sorry for the delay. I finally got over being Overtaken By Events (OBE) and had a chance to test. I was successful. I went into settings, put my phone is Airplane Mode then enabled WiFi and enabled Bluetooth with Cellular left off and the phone still in Airplane Mode. It connected fine and I was able to move it and do two test shots before being OBE again.

Hi. I have the same issue on iphone 13 pro with the latest ios (17.0.3). I check the settings and all set to approve the local network and location. Also turn off the cellular while turn on wifi and bluetooth. But still not working. Any idea how to solve this? And while write here and hope to get any solution here, I have sent my report through the app as well.

avie You put it in Airplane Mode in settings first then enabled wifi and bluetooth, correct? Just turning off cellular doesn't seem to work...

avie Yes, you can try turning on airplane mode, then turning on Bluetooth and Wi-Fi to connect to Seestar

I solved my own problem. Since I can connect seestar to my secondary phone, I connect to seestar and change the wifi frequency from 5G to 2.4G and now I can connect to iphone pro 13. No need to turn on airplane mode.

That worked for me a couple of times then it stopped working and would only work with mobile data turned off again. I’ve started using station mode at home until they come up with a fix. I have an iPhone 14pro. I have submitted a case through the app but haven’t had a response from ZWO.

I had the same issue on an iPhone 15 Pro Max on latest updates. It worked after I disabled "Mobile Data" in the app settings.

@AstroImg@ZWO is there a fix from ASI on the way for this? or is this an Apple issue?

AstroImg@ZWO Yes that’s what I’ve been doing at home and station mode works well. I can just sit upstairs and slew around looking at different targets. It’s when I’m away from wifi that this will be an issue. I might have to dig up an old phone for now.

cbrucker I am having the exact same thing with an iPhone 15 Pro and an 11 Pro.

They did work for a day, and today I could connect and image for 2 hours, but when I went to switch targets, then I started to get the disconnect issues. Now I can't connect no matter what. It keeps Failing.

I have spent 4 hours tonight resetting the Seestar, deleting and reinstalling the app. Nothing. It's pretty frustrating.
