Seestar mosaic sub framing issues

From the image you provided, the green framing rectangle and the actual mosaic coverage look consistent, and we don’t see an obvious issue such as diagonal over-extension or large missing areas. Overall, the mosaic appears to be functioning as expected.
Could you please share a few of the original FIT frames with us? Having the raw data will help us analyze more closely and confirm whether this is an isolated case or something that needs further attention.

This is not an isolated issue. Yesterday I've tried the approach I was suggested at Reddit forums: to enable "Execute enhancement after GOTO" option and try again. This time mosaic was consistent with chosen framing, see how it perfecty worked around the whole frame.

So the steps to reproduce, for me, is to:
1) Enable EQ mode in scope and calibrate correct polar aligment
2) DIsable "Execute enhancement after GOTO" and "Live"
3) Use 2x mosaic and tilt its angle in any way
Mosaic will start working in spirals, but with an offset at an angle of my latitude.
The most important thing: If I enable "Execute enhancement after GOTO" - the issue is not reproducing (see Andromeda image above).

What I think happens, is that Seestar doesn't compensate for its angle in EQ mode if "Execute enhancement after GOTO" is disabled. With the Heart nebula above it worked around the red frame I painted over, while it should've worked around the green rectangle in spirals.

This is not a bug, it's just that we didn't design it this way. We have put forward the requirement, but it is still under evaluation. I hope you can understand.

Support@Seestar Okay, but i think that if "Execute enhancement after GOTO" changes mosaic behaviour in not a right way, it can can be called a bug. Basically if I have this disabled - it discards my chosen frame rotation and applies completely wrong and shifted one, which can spoil the results.
So I need to have "Execute enhancement after GOTO" enabled constantly for mosaic to be framed right.
Yet it has its caveats - for example it decides to use LP filter when I don't want to, etc. I think the above behaviour should be fixed, I don't see any reason for it to be designed as "work wrongly if the option is disabled".

Just not sure about the timing of the change.

Daemon42 You are right, but the feedback I have received so far is that there is no way to optimize it for the time being. Currently, we can only use the "Auto-enhance after Goto" function.

Support@Seestar It's not an optimization. There's no logical reason why that setting should have anything to do with the BUG which makes it completely ignore the user's selected frame rotation. The frame rotation should always be respected.

I there any kind of workaround? I have tried to properly frame Andromeda for the last 1.5 hours with minimal success. Tried everything suggested and I can see that the dust lanes are pointed in the wrong direction. I'd really like t be able to set the scope to capture all night, even after the object crosses the zenith, as a mosaic, properly framed. Anyone have any tips? I am trying for a 10 hour integration and that is not possible in longer intervals with no way to know how the mosaic is going to be framed?

You can use Alt-Az mode or enable the “Execute enhancement after Goto” feature in Advanced Settings.

Support@Seestar I didn’t buy $200 in equipment to use alt/az. I’ve enabled enhance after goto and it does nothing to correct the problem. At least now I know it’s nothing I’m doing wrong. You guys are pretty good at adding features and correcting things. So I’ll get 3 hour or so segments of mosaics and use EQ for objects I can center with an off centered box making it literally impossible to use eq mode in any situation until there is a fix I guess? 😂😂😂

Simple fix. Open the level calibration to accept the degree we are shooting in as level and the machine will work correctly. Bubble that up to the people who didn’t think of it please.

Eventhorizon "I’ve enabled enhance after goto and it does nothing to correct the problem. " Has not been my experience. I've always had this turned on, and when I set the rotation for Andromeda it started capturing subframes at the correct angle.
But what I found was that it was so slow with any rotation angle other than 0 or 90 degrees (even if only zoomed 1.6x or so to just cover andromeda) that I found it was better to just select 2x zoom with either 0 or 90 degrees to cover the whole thing and more, and go. Like so.

It has to do with the way the sub frames are setup to overlap especially around the edges. It's faster to overlap a bunch of straight sides, than a whole bunch of corners.

Support@Seestar Another possible solution would be to add horizontal calibration to EQ mode somehow. I don't know. I have been racking my brain in my sleep to make this a reality because this scope is very powerful when utilized correctly.

How? There are no horizontal plane in EQ, scope is tilted.
