I started using 2.4.2 tonight. The guiding screen is very dark as compared to what it used to be, and I have all the same parameters--High gain, 0.2s exposures. 2600MC-duo. At first it selects the usual 12 stars, but slowly over the last few minutes I'm down to six stars. I've never ever seen stars drop out--especially on a clear night. And why is the guiding screen so dark now? I don't mind it darker, but losing guiding stars that I can still see in the guide window is new. And as I wrote this, another is deselected and it's down to five.

R0k9pZfT I went back to 2.4.1 and I stopped losing guide stars. I only upgraded to 2.4.2 to rid myself of the green tint since the notes only included a few "fixes" that included some minor issues I reported, but as Luxo said--stop changing what isn't broken and focus on what has been reported. Like dithering & imaging timing.

Please stop changing things nobody asked for - like what you've done to the guider - and focus on fixing bugs that have been reported many times.
Please provide an honest and complete list of this things you did change.

We cannot usefully test the app if we do not know what you have changed.

I have been using ASIAir 2.4.2 for the past two nights and noticed there are some issues with the catalog - the Prawn nebula (IC 4628), for example, does not exist in the catalog anymore (it used to exist before) - searching by name yields nothing and clicking the search history entry for the code (IC 4628) does nothing.

One other bug I have been seeing for a while now is that using Sony a7 III via USB connection does not allow to select exposures longer than 30 seconds in Preview mode. Turning the camera off and on in ASIAir UI fixes the issue.

On my android tablet, if I start the ASIAir app, it immediately closes. I have cycled the power, uninstalled and re-installed the app many times. I can use the app in another tablet. The tablet that does no longer work is using android 11. Any help would be appreciated. The app worked fine 2 days ago and stopped working yesterday morning.

Last night was able to image (clear sky miracle) - all was fine but my EAF did not focus right. I started using my Bahtonov mask, but when it did the 2° re-focus it went terribly out of focus and I have a carbon tube Ritchie-Chretien scope. Maybe the step for a 8" dual focus R-C needs to be 400 not 50 - Or is the routine just not working? EAF just does not seem to be working correctly.

zephirus For what it's worth, I didn't have focus problems on my RedCat 91 last night. Other issues--yes--but focusing worked for me. I have the 5v EAF, not one of the newest models just released this year.

Upgraded to 2.4.2 last night. Guiding stopped repeatedly. No “lost star” warning. Just went from guiding to looping. I submitted bug report and uploaded logs.

viperduude Tried a second night. Same problem. I thought it might be a problem with dithering. Turned dithering off, same problem--ASIAIR just stopped guiding and went into looping mode. I submitted another bug report with uploaded logs.

Great, so lets see:

Wifi is broken
Platesolving is broken
Polar alignment is broken
None were addressed in 2.4.2. And now guiding is broken, too.

These are all fundamental - if they don't work reliably ASIAir is useless. As I said before - time to fire your software developer before they kill your company.

I'll give it a try again on 8 September weather permitting to generate some logs.

Regarding old versions, I have the following versions on MacOS for Silicon Macs from the following dates - this week I will try each one-by-one to find out which versions they are. If you want one I can post a link via iCloud.

Just faced another bug - this time with polar alignment - when the alignment is very close to "good" (the happy face), the polar alignment process hangs on the "Loading" stage, but works fine (plate solves and the alignment error is calulated) when the alignment is "okay" (the emotionless face). Using Sony a7 III as my main camera, if that helps
