Just remember that all sky PA is an experimental feature, so it's something we all need to contribute to.

I've been working with them for the last month, and they'll be making the following improvement in the next release: "For 3 point alignments, we will optimize the following release.
And now we sugguest that increase declination degree when alignment."

Hi everyone - has there been any progress with this? I purchased a new ASIAIR Plus today, and have experienced this exact issue. I’m in Australia, and this all sky polar alignment feature is an important one for me - it’s always been perfect for me in NINA.

Could we please have an ETA on a fix?

This is a workaround that I have used occasionally:
What I have found is that the first number it gives you after all-sky polar alignment is correct. So you can repeat the entire polar alignment sequence after each adjustment to find out what your residual error is and then adjust again and repeat. It takes a lot longer but it works.
Not a solution for regular use, but useful for one-off occasions or if you have a pier.

Another option if you have an ASIAir Plus is to roll back the firmware to 1.9 - All-Sky PA reportedly works in that version

Just out of curiosity, what latitute are you guys in Australia?

I experience the same problem in Brazil (-8 deg), also southern hemisphere. Some friends of mine from other places in Brazil (-9 and down, or -7 and up) have no problems whatsoever with polar alignment as we do.

Well, maybe that has something to do with specific latitudes...?

Same problem here I bought an Asiair mini to solve the same problems and it was a total disappointment I'm in Brazil southern hemisphere latitude -23

I have noticed a couple times after I've been chasing alignment for ages I have reset my location and started again, and it seems to work. Might be a solve or maybe it's doing something else, but worth a try if your stuck

I've experienced same issue and located in Melbourne/Australia. I bought the ASIAIR mini last year and for months I could not polar align using Skywatcher HEQ5 pro mount. No matter how I adjust the Alt/Az knobs, clicking refresh, the numbers keeps increase/decrease doing loops. I would have spend like 30 mins each session and still couldn't polar align.

So after spending hours looking at youtube and forums, looks like i'm doing everything right, and got me thinking the issue was with the HEQ5 PRO mount. Lucky it wasn't because I chance upon this topic and have since downgraded the ASIAIR mini firmware/app version (android) to "1.9.1" and once I did that immediately I was able to polar aligned in 5 minutes now.

There's a new version v2.3 that was released recently but I won't be installing that, looks like the recent version 2.3, and 2.2.x have a lots of issues.

Now just to add a bit more, my mount/scope pointed to the South (southern hemisphere), but double story house blocks the southern sky so I slew somewhere to the eastern sky for polar alignment.

Nice feedback! So you downgraded the Asirair "Mini" (small red one with 4 dc outputs) or the Asiar white version (old 5v, no dc output)?

I didn't know you could downgrade the Mini version to 1.9.1. How did you perform the downgrade?

Yes, its the small one, ASIAIR mini with the 4dc output. I don't use the dc output because I connect my ZWO camera, ASIAIR mini and mount to individual 5A adapters (kinda clunky, but plenty of amps for each device and very stable) but because you asked and I was curious I went to checked it out,
and the answer is Yes, using v1.9.1 all the 4 dc output you can individually enable/disable and it outputs around 13.43v, you can see v1.9.1 on the tablet top left next to the time.

I downloaded v1.9.1 apk file from apkpure, a 3rd party, but if you need it from a official site then maybe you can contact zwo support. btw you can read about some discussion here

September 2025 and I continue to present the problem from the southern hemisphere, where does the polar alignment error increase on its own at a more or less constant rate.
Could anyone solve it??

Hi Mario851, New user here, also southern hemisphere (NSW, Australia), and I have been trying to get Polar alignment to work for well over a week. It is only this thread that I've finally found others with the same problem. Every suggestion about my problem seems to attribute it to an issue with my process, but as pointed out in this thread, the error persists even when the mount is untouched. I've never got a successful alignment since buying this equipment. It is very frustrating.

I'm using:

Asiair Pro 2.4.2(12.55)
AM5N Firmware 1.7.7
ASI120MM with UniGuide 32
Askar 71F (FL 490mm)
Canon M6 Mark 2 Firmware 1.1.1

Looks like the links above to roll back the firmware of the Asiair do not work anymore (at least for iOS), so I'm at a loss as to where I go to from here??

Are you using iOS/iPadOS or Android?

Well, I'm in Australia. 1 hour south of Sydney.
I don't use All Sky Polar Alignment.
I don't use the "New Plate Solve" either.
Both of these are in the "i" Settings menu.

I have an ASIAIR Plus 32GB. I use a Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra running Android 15. I use ASIAIR App - Firmware 2.4 3 - 12.55 (this is the same as 2.4.2 on iOS/iPadOS).
My equipment for unguided EAA:
C8 SCT with f/6.3 Reducer
HEQ5 Pro mount
ASI294MC Pro cooled to 0°C
No guiding. No EAF. No EFW. No CAA.

I did a test a couple of days ago using the normal polar alignment routine.

Polar aligned to a total error of 00°00'20"

Tapped on finish. Then went to Mount Settings > Home. Once mount has settled at Home I then went Mount Settings > Sync Mount.

I decided to check so once again ran Polar Alignment. When it started the total error was still around 00°00'20" +/- 00°00'05"

The thing is you'll see the whole changing Polar Alignment number with SharpCap and NINA (at least from what I've read).

Do a test with NINA's three point Polar Alignment plugin (since it's free) and see what happens.

Corsair I'm using Android. Facing south I have trees in the way. I've started setting up a micro computer so that I can run other software. I just need clear skies to test it out.
