Yeah, you guys mentioned this via e-mail. The thing is that I'm not crossing the meridian during the ASPA routine...

I always slew my mount about 80 deg so it can perform the 2 ASPA slews without crossing the meridian, in the direction of the zero position. I have to do this since I don't have a view of the celestial pole (low latitude) (But don't get attached to this, as others have encountered the same issue at higher latitudes). The error still keps changing by itself at every Refresh...

I sincerely don't know what to do. My Mini simply has no use for ASPA. I can only run ASPA with the old V1 with app 1.9.1. Does this give you a hint of what it could be inside the newer app versions?

lucasdanda Could you reproduce the problem and submit the log in the ASIAIR app?
We will analyze it as soon as possible. thanks.

As a disinterested observer of this thread, you've sorely missed "as soon as possible". This thread is 10 months old.

RoscoeD We will release a new public test version soon, could you test it in that version after release?
        Thanks.

I have this exact same problem as well. Based in Sydney, Australia, I only have a north facing view of the sky from my balcony (my apartment building obscures to whole south facing aspect) and ASPA would be super useful (in fact I had clear skies and a great view of Andromeda last night but couldn't PA!). Same symptoms - if I just refresh the screen without adjust RA or DEC at all, the values just keep increasing in both directions. Trying to adjust for DEC and RA is a fool's errand.

I have my fingers crossed this issue will be fixed in the beta release - @Tech@ZWO, do you know when this is scheduled to be released?

        Thanks.

After a long period, I was finally able to perform the test and report through the Bug Report feature. Can you guys check it, as it is still a problem? Still can't polar align with my ASIAir Mini... It's useless at this point since I have no view of the celestial pole (nor does anyone in the southern hemisphere/low latitude anyways...).

I too still have the same problem after upgrading to the beta release. I haven't been able to generate a bug report yet as the weather has not been great but will do soon as soon as I get the chance.

SFQbME0I Thanks, we noted this problem, and are looking into it now.
Please let me know after you submit the log, thanks.

              Dear colleague,

Did you have any progress in solving the issue? Me and some fellow members are still experiencing the impossibility of polar aligning with the latest versions of ASIAir apps. As of now, I'm only able to polar align with old ASIAir v1, coupled with app version 1.9.1.

              Thanks for the attention!

Sorry for the delay! Yes, I did submit the bug report. The ID is 0003470. It is being handled by XujianWei since 06-Dec.

Have you guys found any possible explanation to the error? I checked once again today with app version 1.9.1 (running in an old Asiair V1) and the ASPA works perfectly. Then I switched back to the ASIAir Mini with app version 2.1 and the problem appears.

I appreciate any feedback. Hoping to use my ASIAir Mini as soon as this gets fixed somehow. Thanks for the attention!

Also was able to submit a bug report finally - 0003628. Hope to get a resolution on this soon.

SFQbME0I Good to hear that! The fact that I've been able to run polar alignment smoothly with the classic Asiair v1 on app v. 1.9.1 tranquils me that there might be a solution for this.

Tech@ZWO We'd appreciate any news you might have 🙂. Sorry for the rush though!

Any news? Still got my Asiair mini useless =/

I have an AM5 and Asiair Plus with latest firmware on both as of Feb 6 2024. . I experienced this ASPA bug tonight. Because of trees I was not able to get a star less the 60 degrees east of the meridian - a limitation I did not know about until I read this forum and discovered others had the issue and that ZWO said we can't cross the meridian.
This is a HUGE problem for me because of trees both east and west in my back yard. Please please fix the meridian issue - please think of users with limited horizons when assigning urgency to this case. It's sad to see such a serious bug that has been reported for so long go still unresolved.

lucasdanda Sorry for the delay, our devs check your log, we saw only two times refresh during PA, and the error does not have too much increase.
Can you please refresh more times and take a video to show us the whole process? the log is needed as well.
                    Thanks.

The limitation of not being able to cross the meridian during all sky polar align is a huge problem and should be considered a serious bug. My north and East sky are tree covered enough that I can't use the feature for most positions in my back yard.
