azskyguy Are you asking about the network connection problem? We have received feedback reports that only ASIAIR mini and Plus have problems, and Air cameras should be able to connect normally.

DDivoAstro Hello. The temporary solution we found during the test is: 1) reset WIFI; 2) power off ASIAIR and then power it back on. Resetting alone cannot solve the problem. Can you try this solution? Thank you.

PMTeam@ZWO Ever since I bought the air I've had nothing but connection problems. Often 10-15 disconnects over a 2 hour session. I start at 2.4 gHz, but when it drops out it reconnects at 5, which has less range. it makes monitoring the setup really impossible from the house (distance around 25 feet) where with my older ASIAIR Plus it was no problem. It's just weak WiFi, and why this camera has no ethernet port is beyond me. In my situation it would solve the problem.

Again tonight I am getting partial exposures.... camera runs, then gets stuck on loading... the image in the camera is only a partial image. It's keeping me from getting a full imaging session on a great clear night. I've restarted the camera twice now... runs for awhile, then partial frames. I sent a log, but this is getting ridiculous. Please fix this recurring problem with the 2600MC Air. I have sent the logs twice tonight and example images.

I have been using 5 AsiAir (3 Plus and 2 Mini) for almost a year now, and the latest upgrade have made one Mini very unstable.
As a iOS user it is not useful to turn off automatic updates as they will affect all apps, but that is an Apple issue.
I can use the Mini, but as I mostly use my AsiAir's in "station mode", the last update will always erase the ssid name when enabling station mode.
So when "out in the field" and need to use "standalone" the only way to connect is to reset the Mini (reset button, power off, connect power).
Then it works OK, but not as stable as it used to be.

WIll there be a "roll-back" to previous (stable) version soon?

WIFI reset and reboot OK but it's now out of range: I have to go into my backyard to connect to my AAmini ! Come on !
I used to connect the AAmini and AA+ in station mode, but as soon as I activate station mode, I lose the AA's WIFI hotspot.
This means that when I go out, I can't use my AA until I reset its WIFI, so I lose station mode again.

23 days since the release of 2.2.2, waiting for you to solve the problem.
I mean, 23 DAYS that we can't use the product you sell, the product we buy.
How can we still trust ZWO when we see the contempt with which you treat your customers ?
Conclusion : it's a disaster for your brand image.

DDivoAstro totally agree. They should roll everything back till the firmware is fixed and properly tested. Having no solution is not a good look. Might have to start looking at other options

I encountered(Ver2.2.2) an issue where the application unexpectedly shuts down when using the combination of ASIAIR Plus and iPad mini 6 after the latest update. but with the Pixel and AA mini was no problem. However, it seems to be running in the background, and when I start it again, it returns to the screen that was being used during shooting. However, after about 5 minutes, it returns to the default iPad screen again, so I had to repeatedly launch the application to check the guide and shooting status. I hope that the engineers will improve this as soon as possible.

Indeed, this situation is becoming worrying: many of us are reporting our problems, and ZWO's only response is “reset & restart”.
A buggy version can happen, I think we can understand that. But a buggy version with no solution for more than 3 weeks and no serious response from the manufacturer ?

I herewith complain massively regarding your faulty firmware updates !!!
Normally i my automatic updates are deactivated on my android tablet, but had it activated for other reasons and forgot to deactivate it again.
Started Asiair-App and my Asiair Mini - and the hell i was forced to initialise the update to a firmware 11.30. After 30% it crashed, tried it again - no chance at all.
Man, this I would call poor software engineering on the shoulders of customers !
I had Software 2.2.2 and firmware 11.08 already before and it was running without problems.
The only workaround was to delete the Asiair-app completely and installing Version 2.1.5 apk. After starting it, I've to update from Firmware 10.04 to 11.08. Fortunately I had station mode activated. So I was forced to downgrade from a stable 2.2.2/11.08 i mentioned above !
Why is there no function to skip this bloody updates ?
Why is there obviously such a weak testing ?
I fortunately found a workaround, but not all users have the skills needed or should your items sold to software engineers exclusively ?
I thought, i found here a nice and easy solution for my hobby, but I'm considering to leave ....

I'm assuming you're on Android.

Turn off auto update for the ASIAIR App by going to the Play Store App, go to the page for the ASIAIR App, tap triple dot menu on the top right, and make sure auto update is off.
The App on your device and the firmware on the ASIAIR a matched set. So, you were on 2.1.5-11.08 and, because your App on your device auto updated to 2.2.2, your ASIAIR was updated to 11.30. There's no 2.2.2-11.08 release.

From what I read several people have severe issues with the Network.
With my ASIAIR Plus 256GB with USB C port I have zero problems at least with Station Mode and IOS device.

I do have reduced network performance and sometimes connection problems if several ASIAIRs /Seestars are around.
And I also had to reset WIFI when another ASIAIR was operating nearby (2m apart).

I use Autorun only for calibration frames, it works fine for me. For actual objects I only use the plan mode.

Swizerlan I used Autorun last night. 60 x 90 s subs....I had no issues. AA+ v 2.2.2.

ASIAIR Beta v2.3 (build 14) has appeared on iOS/iPadOS/macos TestFlight.

Firmware is now 11.43.

I updated the ASIAIR firmware (first gen "Plus" model) using macos TestFlight version, and the Beta app on an 12.9" iPad appears to be connect successfully. Note: for safety, I do not have any USB devices connected whenever I power the ASIAIR hardware up to update firmware (and I never use any of ASIAIR's DC power ports anyway).

Remember: this is Beta; which means don't download unless you are willing to perform Beta tests, and feedback problems and suggest fixes for the bugs.

w7ay : I’m trying the new beta version: WIFI problems have disappeared 👍🏼 The AA hotspot is back, displaying its default name ASIAIR_xxxxxx, or a custom name and password. That's good news.
The scope is imaging, no problem and the application seems to be much faster when reconnecting to AA.
To be seen tomorrow morning...

I like the new “apply” button that lets you adjust an object's FOV in Plan.

w7ay looks like the rotator is coming. They should give it the ability to mechanically adjust tilt too

[unknown] I want to point out, that the angle refresh issue is not specific to Android but also to iOS - and STILL exists there (was temporarily solved in intermediate releases though).

Is anyone else unable to get grid lines on planetarium?

Also, I am trying to resolve a 'No Response 17' error on my Celestron that began when this upgrade was issues. Folks on Cloudy Nights forum think this is related to a ground loop issue between the Air and the Hand Controller.

DrJ it likely is, you need a usb ground loop isolator. They are less than $20
